I've just found out I'm pregnant... 7 weeks. I've spent the last few weeks on holiday, eating seafood ( cooked in paella ) and drinking!!!!

I'm really worried of the harm that has already been done :(

It happens a lot and no damage is done.

As long as you stop drinking now that you know, it will be fine!

As for the seafood, the risk is only that is might be bad and you get ill. Seafood in and of itself is not a concern at all. And cooked seafood is not a concern at all, as the heat kills the bacteria that could potencially be harmful to the baby.

All the "banned" pregnancy foods are to do with that. the risk of infection by harmful bacteria (not to you, only to the baby). if you didnt get ill, you are absolutely fine!

Seafood is fine, the risk is that you get ill from it which obviously you haven't. Once you stop drinking etc now you should be absolutely fine. No point feeling guilty for something you didn't know! Congratulations

No damage has been done, the baby is getting its nutrients from the yolk sac currently, the risk of seafood is you getting ill which you haven’t. Try not to worry or it will be a really long miserable pregnancy.

Talking from experience you’ll be fine and so will baby!! I found out about my first just after Christmas at about 6 weeks and I’d been eating everything you weren’t supposed to, drinking lots as it was Christmas and I didn’t even take a folic acid tablet until I was about 10 weeks after my first midwife appointment because I had no idea! 😂 She is now a very healthy 2 year old x

Our first was an accident, and I got engaged and had my bday in the first 6 weeks. There was a lot of alcohol 😂. She’s completely fine, or as fine as a toddler can be. I had a friend suv was a marathoner, so missed periods frequently. Had no clue until 20 weeks or so that she was pregnant, and she participated in “gin tuesdays”. Again, baby totally ok. I think at your stage the placenta is just setting up. The chances of something passing to the baby are very small. I’m sure you’re ok x
