Hi :),

I'm currently looking to buy a bouncer for when baby arrives and I'm feeling a bit confused and overwhelmed with the amount of choice out there, so I've come on here for some recommendations!

Please can you share your recommendations?

TIA

I picked mine up in TK Maxx and can’t remember the brand, but it bounces by itself (battery powered) which is amazing. If I were buying another I’d look for one that did that.

I’ve just been gifted a chico relax and play, it swings rather and plays music. I haven’t set it up yet but it looks really good for the price

I don't think you can beat a Baby Bjorn bouncer! I had a few last time (only tried the Baby Bjorn never had one) and it was by far the best 😊 we did like our Nuna Leaf though.

Baby Bjorn. There's always lots on FB marketplace as they are crazy expensive (over priced) new.

Ooo two votes for the Baby Bjorn bouncer!

Any reason as to why this particular one? I've always wondered why people gravitate towards this one and ones similar to this one - as they don't have any toys attached to them or any vibration settings or anything of that sort? x

Definitely Baby Bjorn!

I had a more basic cheaper bouncer for my first DC but which played music and bounced itself and they were all gimmicks.

The Bjorn just seemed better ergonomically, bounced better and worked better

My baby would not sit in a bouncer no matter how fancy so as pp have suggested try and pick one up on marketplace!

misspositivepants · 04/09/2023 20:04

Baby bjorn again! Best bouncer, I had a one that played music etc before, and they just did not look comfortable etc. the baby bjorn they could also bounce themselves. Sell well after you’ve used it as well if you get brand new

MrsSamR · 04/09/2023 20:22

I agree re the Baby Bjorn and you can buy an activity bar with it. I bought one new and it survived both my girls and managed to sell it on FB Marketplace for a decent amount after too.

Cheap second hand will do. Babies shouldn’t be in them for a long time, shouldn’t sleep in them, only fit in them for a few months and some absolutely hate them. So just get a cheap one off Facebook, you can get them for £5-£10

toddlermum27 · 04/09/2023 22:17

Baby bjorn - had a cheap one with my first and didn't get on with it, really glad we took the plunge with baby bjorn for second. They only last 6 months or so in it but so useful for that brief time.

Just get some on marketplace or shpock. I got 2 for £10 each ....mamas and papas starlight swing, which is perfect for newborn. Then there is tall swing from fisher price that has different direction swinging motions, this one still waiting to be used, as 1 week old is absolutely drowning in it lol. I incline more towards swing, but whatever you choose there is absolutely no need to spend lots of money on it. Plenty of second hand in perfect condition, as they are not used for long anyway.

minipie · 05/09/2023 00:17

Baby bjorn here too. Second hand is fine as (unlike every other bouncer!) you can fully remove and wash the fabric.

Better because it sits up higher (ie more vertical) so they are happy in it for longer, also they can bounce themselves once strong enough, also did I mention it’s washable?! Godsend when they do an explosive poo. We also used ours for weaning.

I did buy a clip on activity bar (non baby bjorn) which also worked on the car seat

NannyR · 05/09/2023 00:27

The simpler the better, you don't need anything with batteries, music, automated bouncing, vibrations. The Baby bjorn one is great, buy it second hand and sell it on after you've finished with it.

Bunny2021 · 05/09/2023 11:14

@minipie - I forgot about the explosive poos in the bouncer! One to remember for DC2 in a few weeks...

The Baby Bjorn bouncers are amazing but I had forgetten that the angle I think sometimes doesn't help explosive poos up the back. However, as PP mentioned, the covers are easily removable and washable.

Both my kids hated baby bjorn bouncer
