Thrush and sweep

Hi there,

I am due my baby very soon and was told I could have a membrane sweep at my midwife appointment on Wednesday, which I really wanted go ahead and have.

Over the weekend, I got thrush so I used a Canesten pessary and external cream but today is Monday and it still hasn’t cleared.. I’m going to use another pessary tonight and hope that does the trick but if it doesn’t, will it prevent me being able to have the sweep? Thanks

How many weeks are you?

I would avoid a sweep if you've had any signs of of infection, you don't want it pushed further up there.

I’m 39 and a half weeks. I’ve been over with all my previous pregnancies and had to be induced which is something I’d really like to avoid this time round if possible. If it hasn’t cleared then I will ask if I can have one at the 41 week appointment instead and that will give it a bit more time to clear up. Thanks
