I had an emergency section last time and the whole thing is a blur. I can't remember any of it or the few days afterwards.

Is there anything specific I should pack? Or anything I should leave behind?

Thanks x

muslin cloths

everything you would for a regular birth, make sure you have huge cotton knickers, the paper ones can often rub on your scar.....lots of sanitary pads, arnica, peppermint teabags, as you can get bad trapped wind after a c.s.

music for during the c.s, birth plan, some comfortable loose clothes to wear to go home

Soft, comfy clothing. I couldn't wait to get out of the paper knickers and stiff hospital gown!

Anything you would for normal birth, just need for an extra couple of days. Only varietion - get belly warmer knickers as anything smaller rolls under your stomach and can irritate the wound.

francesca1978 · 02/03/2008 22:46

Thanks all.

So huuuuuge pants, big baggy clothes and my v pillow. Apart form that everything I took last time.

About the arnica, is there a strength I should look for or can I just get it in boots?

I was excited but now it's getting closer I'm a bit scared! I wasn't very well last time and I know it will probably be different this time but I can't get it out of my mind.

a planned c sect is VASTLY different to an emergency c sect hun ,you will be surprised at how relaxed it all is
