Hcg levels? Worrying

Hi there,

Going by my missed period I should be 5weeks + 1 today. I’ve had some light bleeding and spotting which came to a stop yesterday.
I called the EPU on Monday worried, they did my hcg levels yesterday and results were 150 hcg looking like I’m 3-4 weeks pregnant, so they did say they are lower for the stage I’m at.
They are going to repeat them tomorrow, but I’m just so worried and very anxious about this.

I was on fertility meds and tracking my ovulation and based on positive OPKs on the 6th august and from the times we baby danced I must of conceived somewhere between 7th-9th possibly making my dates fairly correct.

Has anyone had experience with their hcg levels being bit lower? Or should I not be getting my hopes up?

While I wouldn't say all is lost, I wouldn't be getting ny hopes up, no.

But hcg levels mean very little in a vaccum, so you do need that repeat test, to see which way it is going.

Try not to worry too much. Spotting and bleeding can be normal in pregnancy.

It could be the case that you implanted late which would take you back to the 4 week bracket of hcg level. But as @ASGIRC said above, one reading of hcg means nothing. You need another test 2-3 days later to check whether they've doubled and the results from that test will tell you everything you need to know.

Thank you everybody, I got my second results back and my hcg levels are dropping. Just waiting on the bleeding now 😞

@gskay83 thank you, I’m so sorry you’ve been through it too. It is heartbreaking 💔 was our second round of fertility meds so we felt so lucky but it wasn’t meant to be sadly. I have good support and a healthy 11 year old so I am lucky. Our future little one that is meant to be here will be one day I hope 💜 thank you, take care x
