Info on sick note

My sick note ends the 4th September. The doctor said I'd be able to extend if need to and just to ring GP and will just have to collect at reception. My question is do I have to wait till the 4th or would i be able to extend it now?

This happened to me last year and I had to wait until it ran out and have it backdated. If you let work know that's what's happening I'm sure it will be fine.

With my GP it can take 7 days to look into but they look into it quicker than that, i always submit my request a few days before my cert expires xx

The doctor did say it won't need to be looked in to just have to let reception know and she'll sign me off for longer. I should of asked then and there. Probably be easier to jsyt give the GP a ring and ask. Thank you xx
