Baby Monitor Recommendations?!

bringmesunshine99 · 28/08/2023 21:26

Hi all, hope you are all doing okay 😘 Does anyone have any recommendations for baby monitors please?! Trying to be organised!

We liked the look of the VTech RM7767HD but the reviews are terrible and it seems that they stop working after a few months and lose connectivity. I’ve also just read a review about it being hacked which has now put me off!

I like the app connectivity and the size of the screen, but not sure if we’ll be better with a more standard baby monitor without some of the gimmicks. Any tips gratefully received.

I have done so much research and there doesn't seem to be any stand out winner, they all seem to have not so great reviews. Ahh!

Thanks in advance x

I had a bt baby monitor, screen was really clear, also had the app which was great if we went out. Long range on the parent unit too. I’d recommend looking at the bt ones.

Everyone will have different opinions but we had BT and didn't like it. First one broke, 2nd one broke even quicker. So we went with vtech and couldn't believe how much better it was. Clearer picture etc.

We didn't go for a smart one for exactly the reason you mention, hacking. So didn't want one that connected to WiFi.

Went with this one. We liked it so much we bought a second one for our second child as wanted one in each room.

After A LOT of research I bought this one which we use in conjunction with an Owlet sock. It's great - Baby Monitor, Video Baby Monitor... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09SW34DQJ?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

I have this Vtech one that I can’t fault. It’s not a wifi one so no risk of it being hacked, and I like that you can use the handset to move the camera. My baby moves a lot in her sleep so I can always find her no matter what corner of the cot she is in 😂

We have a leapfrog monitor which comes with a nice big screen / control pad but no app or WiFi connection so again no risk of being hacked as that was a concern. It also plays music, has two way voice so we can talk to her when she's in the cot and has pretty lights (bit like a nightlight), can move it around a bit from the pad, checks room temp (not sure how accurate this is) and more.... And typically it's now reduced 😂 https://www.argos.co.uk/product/2840897?rec=PDP[2000060]:bottomSlider:P1:SS:syte:2840897:FtaUh5whff8xN3IgDoa2
