Need some positive stories here ladies!
Had a sweep on wednesday the midwife said she could feel babies head and she could stretch me to 3cms.
Ive lost a bit of my plug and had plenty of tightness yesterday but not much today.
This baby isn’t coming any time
soon is it! I don’t have another appt to go
back to the hospital until wednesday for an induction i’m starting to think i’ll need one at this rate.

Oh exciting. Do you have stairs? Walk up and down stair sideways, walk with one foot on a curb and one on the road, get on a gym ball. It will all get baby in a good position to go. Hopefully something happens soon!

Rosie50 · 26/08/2023 00:25

And also, get plenty of rest in case it does kick off!

Three like this. My top tips"

  1. Acupuncture find one that knows what they are doing. Amazing.
  2. Walk and bounce a lot
  3. Blow balloons (definitely worked for me by mistake and then found out it's an actually scientifically proven thing!

I had this, except three sweeps took me to 2cm but unfortunately still not any contractions.

I had my third sweep on a Friday morning and went in to be induced on the Sunday morning. They went straight to breaking my waters though Sunday night and baby was born Monday morning! No regrets about the induction and luckily didn’t need a drip or anything. I did lots of walking and ball bouncing, but actually like PP says wish I had just rested! Good luck

With DD1, I had a stretch and sweep on my due date and was 2-3cm, she could stretch to 4cm, waters bulging, could feel the head, I went into labour at 40+5, it was very quick if that's any consolation, good luck!

Bookchildtable · 26/08/2023 07:02

With dt I was 4cm for several weeks, ended up on bedrest in hospital. When I was induced it was 5 hours to deliver twins. So definitely quick.

Any sign of baby OP??

Dobbyismostaggrievedsir · 28/08/2023 11:06

Maybe baby is planning for a higher chance of academic success in the future by not being born until Friday. I hope everything is going well, and your lovely baby is with you soon.

santastolemycat · 28/08/2023 11:34

Nope!! I think i’ll be going to the hospital for my induction on wednesday. But I feel ok about that now it’s monday cos it’s less than 48 hour to go!
Last week it seemed like an eternity to wait

And come back with your good news!

santastolemycat · 30/08/2023 19:25

So the midwife on the ward phoned me earlier to say they are pretty full and might not have a bed for me when I show up.
She offered me to go to another hospital which I am not keen on ( I work in the different dept at the original hospital so would feel more comfortable going there)
I basically cried down the phone to this poor nurse and she said just to show up at the agreed time and they’ll see what they can do.
About to leave in about an hour so hopefully i’ll not get all the way there only to be sent away again.

Best wishes OP! Wishing for a beautiful bouncing baby by morning 💕

headcheffer · 30/08/2023 19:35

Oh good luck OP at 3cms already just the pessary should get things moving quickly

santastolemycat · 03/09/2023 08:40

So baby boy is here! He was born on the 31st of August at 20:21pm. He was a very chunky 9lb 7!!!
I got taken down and had my waters broken about lunchtime.
Im glad I stayed at my original hospital as I had another bleed, that was bigger than the previous one.
I did however manage to avoid forceps as by the time they got the theatre all organised baby had decided he wasn’t totally stuck as he appeared to be and was coming on his own.
Hes got a big bruise on his head that they need to keep an eye on so not home quite yet but hopefully today. 🤞🏻
