Super uncomfortable 4 weeks pregnant

Currently 4 weeks pregnant. This is my second pregnancy after my first ended in a missed miscarriage 2 year ago.
For the past few days I have had cramping, twinging and pulling - all which I know are normal and probably ligament pain.
The pain has now spread to my lower back and I have an extremely uncomfortable feeling round my back and lower tummy. I can't seem to find a comfy position to sleep or sit in at the moment!!
Does anyone have any advice on finding relief? Is this normal to feel this u comfortable? It's making me super ratty and irritable!! Sad

I wouldn’t say that is normal at 4wks, sounds like the pain I get if I have a period coming on. Do you think it could be a chemical and your period is coming?

I felt like this at 4 weeks, now 11 weeks and baby is growing well so try not to panic.

All I can suggest is paracetamol and. Hot water bottle (not ideal in august I know!) or maybe a warm bath. Hope you feel better soon

I also have very sore and swollen boobs, felt fatigued every day and bouts of nausea. Surely if my period was due I wouldn't have all these symptoms along with positive tests? 😳😬

You can get musculoskeletal and digestive symptoms as your production of relaxin begins to increase, although 4 weeks is on the early side. Could you be a couple of weeks further along than you think?

Are you sure you don’t have a UTI/kidney infection? I’d see a doctor if I were you… it doesn’t sound typical of 4 weeks pregnant.

My last period began on 28th July and I think I ovulated around the 7th/8th august (according to my Flo app). My pregnancy test was super faint on 18th august but then a clear blue test on 22nd said 2-3 weeks!

I wouldn’t say this sounds typical of 4 weeks, I would get in touch with GP or midwife for advice. Cramping is common in early pregnancy but what you’re describing sounds more like third trimester feelings. Definitely speak to a HCP

Potnoodlie · 25/08/2023 22:01

Could you be constipated? That caused me to feel very uncomfortable in early pregnancy.

Viviennemary · 25/08/2023 22:04

I agree with seeing your gp. Some period type cramping pains are not unusual but if you are really uncomfortable best to get checked.

CluelessInLondon · 25/08/2023 22:07

I had some discomfort similar to what you describe at around 5-6 weeks, though perhaps not as bad - I had some lower back pain, cramping and a sort of heavy feeling in the lower abdomen. I used a hot water bottle to help relieve the discomfort, which worked well - it only lasted about 3 or 4 days for me. It was perhaps milder than what you're feeling though.

TarquinOliverNimrod · 25/08/2023 22:11

I think this is v unusual at 4 weeks. I felt terrible at 6 weeks, severe nausea hit me out of nowhere but at 4 weeks, I wouldn’t have even known I were pregnant had I not had IVF.

This pregnancy I knew there was a high chance I could be pregnant due to symptoms similar to this, before my cycle was due.Waited 5 days or so post cycle due date & lo & behold it was positive within seconds 😂 Husband thought I was crazy asking for a hot water bottle in July & I was sat in the bath 🤣 If you are concerned get checked out due to your history but I hope it goes well for you & congratulations!

Know this is an old post but how was your outcome? I’m going through exact same right now nearly 6 weeks xx
