5 weeks. Bleeding no cramps

I’m 5 weeks pregnant and bleeding quite a lot. It’s more than spotting, maybe like a moderate period.
I have no cramps or fever and so the drs have said I just have to wait until I’m far enough that they can do a scan, but to go to a&e if i think it’s ectopic. I just want to know either way really and I’m a bit on edge wondering if I’m still pregnant or not and if actually I could get really sick suddenly because they keep mentioning a&e.
Has anyone had any experience of this?

Hi, sorry you're experiencing this. Unfortunately you just can't tell either way until you have a scan. At 5 weeks they would be able to determine if it's ectopic or not, so if they were suspecting this then they should refer you to EPU for early scan. I've had a previous ectopic, but bled dark brown blood which was like a very light period...If you go via A&E they could possibly refer you that way to EPU. If you have no luck you could book private early scan..

Thanks for your answer and sorry you experienced that
I called back today to ask if they’d do blood tests and they said no, so I’ll just have to wait it out.
it’d really hard not knowing, I feel like I can’t relax

Yh I think just turning up at A&E, saying you're bleeding and concerned about ectopic etc? That will probably be your best way forward if you're concerned x
