I am a trainee psychotherapist and looking to observe a baby as part of studying infant development, an essential part of psychotherapeutic training. Conducting it is often perceived as a unique and enriching experience, not only for the trainee, but also for the family. If you are pregnant and due in 2023 or you are a new parent, interested and would like further information please contact me here or on [email protected].
Purpose
It involves observing an infant in the family's personal space, for one hour per week, throughout one academic year (usually Sep to June). Its aim is to improve the trainee’s learning about child development and family relationships. The observer's role focuses on discreetly monitoring the infant's ways of interacting and communicating with their caregiver/s. There is no financial cost for any of the sessions.
