6-7 weeks pregnant, scared to tell employer

Hello please advice,

I am on a tier 2 work visa and am 6-7 weeks pregnant and have worked this job for 7 month. my job doesnt allow much time to sleep between shifts, maybe 5 hours, and i get even less for struggling to sleep. I am living 200 miles away from my fiancee, whom i will be marrying in about 2 weeks. I am terrrified of telling my employer i am pregnant, because they make us workers think they have power to deport us if they arent happy. i am seriously struggling with first trimester symptoms, like exhaustion, nausea, vomitting and headaches, along with lack of sleep. i feel like i must keep this job to stay in the country. i will be married to my british fianceein 2 weeks, and i feel like i cant keep the baby because of the employer/sponsorship.

my fiancee keeps asking me to tell my employer, and telling me i can live with him and that i cannot be deported due to the marriage certificate and the fact he is on a disability benefit.... but im trying to keep my sponsorship until the very day i am approved for a spouse visa, to be safe!

what do i do?

thank you,
SamandChad

I'm sorry to hear of your predicament. If possible I would avoid telling your employer. They can't fire you for being pregnant, but honestly they sound like they kind of company who wouldn't pay much attention to that.

Try and stick it out until at least after your wedding, have the paperwork ready to go to apply for your spousal visa so you can submit it the day after you get married. Once you've submitted it you can tell you employer and see if they can improve your working conditions.

To get through the next couple of weeks, can you visit your doctor and get some medication to help you manage the nausea. Is there any other time of day you can rest or sleep?

Hang on in there, you can do this x
