Healthy pregnancy with heartbeat seen on 6 week scan but possible 2nd sac

Sorry for the long post but was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything similar….I’m currently 6+4 weeks pregnant, 2nd ivf pregnancy, 2 MC prior to doing ivf.
i was due an early scan at 7weeks on 24th Aug but due to some left sided mild cramps and some very light spotting/staining my clinic scanned me a week early at 6+1. On the scan we saw a the yoke sac and heart beat and measurements were all perfect but the sonographer and the nurse with her both think they see another sac which is empty but they said they can’t be 100% certain at this stage but said it would most likely explain the cramping/spotting and my body will just reabsorb it.

I’m back next week for another scan but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I still feel nervous and worried incase it isn’t another sac so what could be causing the spotting.
i did have cervical erosion with my 1st pregnancy but the spotting from it didn’t start til 16 weeks but the nurse said it could also be that causing it this time…totally confused!!!

Hey! How did you get on? Hope all was ok. I’m 5-6 weeks pregnant, my hcg levels are rising normally and they saw an empty sac last Thursday. I’m praying to see a yolk and heartbeat this Thursday. But I’ve been having bleeding on and off and praying it’s my cervical erosion. I hope you’re ok and everything worked out for you x

Hi avocado98, so I’m currently 15+5 and so far all is going good. Went back at 7 weeks for another scan, baby had grown and heart was beating away and the “second sac” had shrunk a little. The spotting I had was super super light and stopped on the day i turned 8 weeks. I’ve since had a further 2 scans and thankfully all is looking good and on my last scan at 12 weeks there was no sign of a second sac so if that’s what it was it’s completely gone.
I still feel nervous that all will be ok but I’ve been suffering from hyperemesis this pregnancy so been so so sick which I’m told is a good sign.

I hope your scan goes well and you see that little heartbeat. 5 weeks can be very early to see anything so I wouldn’t worry.

Ah I’m so glad you’re ok @DATL - congratulations!

I went back last week and saw a fetal pole and yolk sac so I think all is good, just sick of the bleeding from my erosion. It’s so draining and happening most days! Ugh!

I hope your sickness gets better but I do hear that’s a good sign!
