My sis thinks she's having a very early miscarriage ... any experiences?

4/5 weeks pregnant and already had spotting. Now some brown blood for the past three days - not heavy enough to need a sanitary towel but enough to need to wipe away. She has a docs app on Tuesday but wondered if anyone has experience of this as I think it could still be OK but realise that sometimes it isn't. x

It could be anything with an early miscarriage my period just started like any other time but was heavier

Could it be implantation

I had this with all my pregnancies and have 3 healthy children

I would tell her not to worry yet

When I miscarried, I had two days of brownsih blood before the red bleeding started. If it stays brown, and not very much, then that is more encouraging.

Having said that, many people bleed all the way through pregnancy, at about the time their period would have been due, and it's fine.

Unfortunately, it's just a wait and see situation. If the blood becomes bright red and is accompanied by pain, then it's almost certainly a miscarriage.

Hi, just wanted to let u know, i have had a brownish pinkish light bleeding at or around the time each month that my period should have been due, have now had three scans and am coming up to 14 weeks with a very lively healthy looking babe, hosp and consultants are v-happy with progress and said where ever the bleed is coming from it is not affecting baby in any way, so please try not to worry (i know it is easier said than done) and take it easy - good luck x

Two of my miscarriages started this way - up to two weeks of brown before the full bleeding/ bad scan result.

Can go either way unfortunatly.

my miscarriage was like a heavy period. no spotting, just cramping and period-like blood leakage.

I had that with this pregnancy at the same time. Went on for five days. Am nearly 20 weeks now. It can work out. If there is no pain and the blood stays brown and scanty she's probably fine. She needs a viability scan though.

I've also had two miscarriages at six weeks, both started with cramping and bright red blood.

I had about 6 days light bleeding at 4-5 weeks with my first (i thought it was a v.light period at the time) - she's now 3yrs old and the rest of pregnancy went gr8!!

doc said it was probably implantation bleed and nothing to worry about at all.

Had m/c with 2nd pregnancy, but a few weeks further in and it was MUCH heavier. Also got cramps too.
