Is this a positive?

I am still quite early to be testing as AF isn't due for another 8 days, I took this clear blue test yesterday morning, it had a very faint line instantly and then it got darker though out the day, picture below of test now.

Took another test on the evening, I think I can see a very very very faint line but my friend thinks it's negative. Took an Asda test this morning and it's a clear negative.

Do you think clear blue is a false positive or try again with another clear blue in the morning?

Unless you have an extremely long cycle, testing 8 days before period is due is not recommended. It'd be likely you wouldn't even have implanted yet. What day in your current cycle are you at? Do you know when you ovulated? Clear Blue are notorious for false positives unfortunately - I really wish they were taken off the market until fixed.

As pp suggested it may be too early to test. Clear blue are known for evap lines so if the line appeared after the time then you can’t count it as a positive. The evap line will also get darker as the dah goes on.
There are early detection tests but they suggest holding off until 4 days before a missed period.

Cb are awful for these and 8 days before you are due is just too early. As pp said 4 days before your period is the earliest you should be testing, get a decent pink dye early test, boots own are good, use first morning urine. Even then it may still be too early to test.

I would wait a few more days. Earliest I've ever got a faint positive even with the FRER has been 10 DPO x

I have been told over the years that I would struggle to conceive when trying for children and to expect the fact I may need additional support.
I have always tracked my periods as they have been so irregular, however over the last 5 months I have been like clockwork having a 4 week break between periods.
I also use the Clearblue ovulation tester on a regular basis and I had never had a smiley face on the test. Until last Wednesday which would indicate I was ovulating.
My period based on my usual cycle should have been due on Monday just gone, however I am unsure how accurate that is due to the date I ovulated and it only being 5 days apart.
I have been doing pregnancy tests as a precaution and this morning I had this on my early response Clearblue test. I am unsure whether it is my eyes hoping to see a faint line or whether it is actually there???

@Augustsun2023 I see the line but doesn't look like it has any colour. Can you try a pink dye instead?

I’ll do another one tomorrow morning to see.
It is easy to drive yourself insane by staring at them all the time isn’t it🙈

Agree with others re pink line tests. Can buy a box of easy@home cheapies on Amazon with next day delivery. I find them great and no issues with false positives
