Bloating disappearing: week six

Hello there. I had a missed miscarriage in May for which I had very few symptoms. I sensed something was not right.

I am now pregnant again (after a chemical too) and was hugely relieved to feel a great whack of hormones half way through week 5: my tummy and thighs swelled up, I was exhausted and even got a bit of nausea which would go away when I ate.

At week six my nausea disappeared - I now feel like I don't have much of an appetite at all - and this morning I noticed I am much less swollen in the belly and thighs. I am still tired but it feels different.

I'm obviously panicking and wondered if anyone else experience a hit of hormones at 5 weeks and then rather less at 6? With my MMC, I didn't really get anything at all.

Thanks

How long have they not been present for?

I'm currently 13w and between week 7-9 I'd have a couple of days here and there where my symptoms would disappear and I was always on edge.

If they've been gone for longer than a few days if maybe go and get checked out to put your mind at rest xx

Thank you - they've been gone yesterday and today; I say gone but I'm still tired and emotional, just not sick or hungry. But it feels like a long time to have lost that side of it for.

To be honest I struggle to tell what's there and what's not when I get upset and worried like this - my mind takes over. Congratulations and all best wishes for your pregnancy!

Ah that's not too long then, Hopefully they return asap and all is well, I know how worrying it is though especially after lossFlowers

Hi @Monkeyportrait
I have ups and downs with my symptoms. I have days i struggle to get off the sofa and other days i can run around doing housework all day. My tummy was really bloated and i looked pregnant one week then the next my tummy just looked normal.

Try not to worry hun and enjoy your pregnancy xx

Thank you. I was just so relieved to feel anything this time I think that's why I'm panicking! Really appreciate your response!

Can I ask how it worked out for you? I'm currently 5+4 and my bloated belly and sore boobs have just disappeared. I'm worrying like hell, just want to prepare myself for the worst, if it's to come. I hope you had a healthy pregnancy after bloated symptoms dissipated? 🙏

Hello! My symptoms came back around week seven and then ramped up and up... It's so weird but the definitely disappeared at the start and then returned. I think the most useful thing I heard from someone was that you get a kind of hormonal infusion each time; your body adapts to it, things settle and then another infusion comes. So please don't worry! X

Thanks so much for your reply! That eases me a lot, I had a loss in February, so I guess my mind just overthinks and I can't help but worry this time, I don't want to get my hopes up. That makes sense, I can't believe I'm actually wanting to feel rough, ironic. I'm so happy it went well for you, that's great news! x

Yes it's horrendous - I totally know how you feel. I remember I gradually gained a sense that the hormones were fluctuating and then I kind of relaxed into it. I think there is a first flush, then a quiet period, and then more - but it can be so much later on. Lots of morning sickness comes as late as week nine or ten - I only remembered that this time round; I had completely forgotten from my first pregnancy. I felt fine, that time, till about week eight! But losses change it all and rewire the brain. Hold heart!

Thank you so much, that reassures me a lot! I can't believe I'm wanting to feel ill for once in my life! All my symptoms completely went away yesterday, really had me thinking it wasn't meant to be this time, but today for the first time I had a little nausea, I felt so much calmer again. Thanks, I'm going to just try my best, day to day, to stay positive, and not keep over thinking or thinking the worst.
