I’m 10 weeks ish and on Monday I noticed tiny spots of light brown in my discharge only on wiping but not everytime. Fast forward today and it’s now light pink and spotting on a pad is this a miscarriage? Would it be bright red by now or painful being 10 weeks+ Iv got an emergency scan tomorrow at 4pm but totally freaking out

Have you had sex recently? I found before 12 weeks I'd sometimes wipe light blood after/next morning from DTD 😊

MrsLM85 · 17/08/2023 17:54

Nope we haven’t

@MrsLM85 I've had on and off bleeding throughout my pregnancy so far (now 14w). Mostly it's been as you described, but I also had one super heavy red bleed, even then scan showed everything was fine. If it's not painful, and not getting significant heavier over the next 12 hours or so, it's probably just irritation to your cervix, it's really normal in the first trimester.

SkaterGrrrrl · 17/08/2023 21:12

I bled while pregnant with DD, she was absolutely fine. Went for a scan and they found her heartbeat. It's scary but doesn't always mean miscarriage. DD is nearly 13 and sitting on the couch beside me watching movies.

@MrsLM85 have you had any previous scans at all or is your first one at 12 weeks? Hopefully it's nothing to worry about 🤞🏻

strawberryblue · 17/08/2023 23:20

I had exactly this when pregnant and baby was fine. It was irritation or the lining around nothing to do with baby x

Farcry66 · 17/08/2023 23:31

I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and didn't bleed at all with my first 2 so when I had a bleed with this one I immediately thought the worse. I didn't realise, but bleeding, particularly in the first trimester is incredibly common, around 25% of women expereince it.

At my 20 week scan it showed I have a very low placenta which is possibly the cause for it.

However, it won't stop you worrying until you've had your scan! I bled on and off from 11 weeks to 16 and not since then (24 today).

I have had bleeding with both my pregnancies and they have both gone to term and are now tucked up in bed. Hope you are ok.

Al991 · 18/08/2023 03:18

Good luck with your scan OP! I had bleeding at 8 weeks and it turned out to be fine.

MrsLM85 · 19/08/2023 06:56

Unfortunately baby stopped growing about 6/7 weeks so it was a missed miscarriage and just stayed inside me. Im beyond broken right now

BabyHope1 · 19/08/2023 14:35

So sorry OP. Been there and I know how difficult it is.

It will get better in time. And there is always another chance. Fingers crossed it happens for you soon.

YourLocal · 18/02/2024 21:12

I had bleeding on and off for the first few months. When I went for my scan it showed a big bleed beside baby. But I'm now 36 weeks pregnant. I know it's hard not to worry in those early stages but try not to xx
