Ectopic pregnancy

Hi,

Currently in hospital waiting for surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. I don't want to make anyone anxious but also think it's important to be aware. This is my 4th pregnancy with no previous issues in others. My only symptoms were a couple of days of brown/pink spotting and some sharp (but not unbearable) pains in my right hand side (and the ectopic is apparently on the left!) Please if you have any symptoms go and get checked out, who knows what could have happened if I hadn't bothered.

Hand hold for you OP, I've been there. Take it easy during recovery, make sure take the doctor's advice and rest plenty following the surgery, it'll take a few weeks to feel physically back to normal. Take time to process what has happened too.

I echo your advice, I only had a few days of light, brown bleeding, no pain. I found out it was ectopic when it ruptured, the pain was unbelievable and I nearly died from internal blood loss. If in any doubt, get checked out.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Had surgery around 8 last night and all seemed to go smoothly... Just feels so unfair. It was a live pregnancy, growing as it should, just for some reason in the wrong place. They said it had just started bleeding so at least they were able to find it before my tube ruptured.
