Empty sac at 5.5 weeks? Normal?

I've just had an internal scan, bloods are in the 4000's (2 days ago) and the midwife said they would expect to see something with them levels
I just want to prepare myself because the midwife can't give me an answer and I'm waiting for a doctor now
Can anyone be brutally honest with me and tell me at 5/6 weeks was anything seen on your internal scan?
Thank you x

I think it's totally normal. Had empty sack at 6w+ . I don't remember hcg values, but I think it was higher than that.

Did you track your hcg increase every 2 - 3 days?

Best of luck!

Hi

I didn’t have an internal but I had an ultrasound scan at 5 weeks + 2 and I saw a gestational sac, yolk and tiny fetal pole. Hcg was 4841 at the time. Fingers crossed all is well 🤞🏽

I think it's totally hit and miss at this point. Plenty of people can see a fetal pole at 5 weeks. But there are plenty of people who have similar stories where they don't and go on to see it at a repeat scan and all is fine. Sadly HCG levels don't necessarily mean all is well so the doctor was right to give you a warning just in case all is not well. Sadly until your next scan there is no way to know which was it will go. Good luck though.
