I couldn't find a new thread open as the old is now full.

Got a few of the usernames to tag, definitely missed people but hopefully they find the thread :)

Hi ladies, the past couple of days I’ve felt like baby’s moments are different.
I didn’t really know if it was classed as reduced, because I have felt baby move but it seems more slow than normal.
I did have a couple of busy days and because of the heat I read dehydration can cause reduced movements and braxton hicks which I’ve definitely had more of.

Does anyone know if I should ring tomorrow and ask for advice or has anyone else’s movements been different during the heat?

spanglesj · 09/09/2023 23:09

Hey @Mrsrobinsonx ive had the same today with different movements and BH all day long. I overdid it in the heat :( anyway I just went ahead and rang them. They always say ring if you are at all worried even if you feel like it’s probably fine. So I just go. I’m so knackered, it’s 11pm and still waiting for a GP but it’s so worth it if there is any doubt for that peace of mind to have a heart trace on the monitor. :-)

spanglesj · 09/09/2023 23:12

@JoyApple yeah I found that book by Millie hill really useful with my DC in 2020. Reccomend it x

Spareincoming · 10/09/2023 08:25

@Mrsrobinsonx Ring them! They’d sooner you did than didn’t!
The heat can have an effect but doesn’t for everyone - better safe than sorry.

JoyApple · 11/09/2023 01:01

Hi, how is everyone feeling and coping? I'm feeling really down past few days (heat isn't helping either). Anyone else in the same boat?

WriMum22 · 11/09/2023 06:18

@JoyApple Ive felt like this last week or so. I’m 30 weeks now and I think as I’m getting closer, I’m becoming more desperate to meet her. I’m also getting sad because this is my last ever pregnancy, and I feel I’ve just wished it away and haven’t really savoured each moment just because I’ve either been dealing with hyperemesis or SPD. I’m so uncomfortable, in pain with my hips, haven’t slept for weeks because of it, suffering from heartburn and just feel huge, there’s not one item of clothing I feel nice in at the moment 🙈

PinkPlantCase · 11/09/2023 07:14

@JoyApple Hormonally it feels like I’m in that week before my period ALL THE TIME.

It’s so hard to have patience with my 2 year old and not cry at silly things.

I have my annual appraisal at work in a few weeks and I really don’t have the emotional capacity for it

TMI2000 · 11/09/2023 08:18

@JoyApple absolutely yes to feeling really down. For me, i'm not sleeping properly and bring on the cooler nights, the housework is very overwhelming and I feel like in my head I am in such a motivated space and so ready to lose weight and get on top etc but because of how tired I am all the time I actually have no will power and I also know I cannot lose too much weight whilst pregnant so that all has me feeling pretty bummed out at times.

I think I've also started to experience some pelvic pain too but I'm not sure as this is my first pregnancy. I feel a pressure down in the area, especially when going to the toilet and when doing a fair bit of walking my pubic bone really hurts. I love the little boy inside of me and I cannot wait to meet him but don't think anyone can prepare you for how difficult pregnancy actually is, even when you have a "easy" pregnancy!

Katiec1 · 11/09/2023 10:01

@JoyApple I’m kind of feeling a whole bag of mixed emotions.

I’m starting to feel more excited now coming closer to our due date because we obviously can’t wait to meet her but I’m also a worrier too and can’t help but feel anxious and worry that something will go wrong before then.

I’m also a little down as I know for sure this is my pregnancy, so I’m really trying to make the most of it, every little kick/nudge/movement.

And I know this may sound silly but the next few weeks are the last that we can say we’re a family of 5 before we turn to 6. We’re trying to make the most of the time we have with our girls (days out/movie nights etc) before another little one arrives and I think that’s getting to me the most and I get very teary eyed over it.

As I said a whole mix of emotions…and yes this heat and lack of sleep has not been helping 🙈

We’re on the homestretch ladies 💪🏻

WriMum22 · 11/09/2023 10:21

@TMI2000 sounds like you could be starting with mild SPD or PGP whatever they call it nowadays, has so many names lol. It started for me with my first pregnancy and it came on from about 30 weeks. I’m now pregnancy number 3 and this time it’s started at 22 weeks and it’s so much more intense than it has been in the past. I’ve heard if you start in your first pregnancy, you’ll get it in further pregnancies and it’ll start sooner with each and be more painful, for me that has turned out to be true.

If you find it’s getting worse or affecting your day to day, see your GP, even at this point, Physio may help. Also try not to stand up putting underwear etc. on, sit down and do it and always get out the car with your legs together, swinging them out. You’ll be surprised how much this can help.

Thack · 11/09/2023 12:50

Sorry to say, but I'm glad I'm not the only one getting more emotional.
I had a rough time around the birth of DC1, so it's all back in my head. I had wondered how much has been triggered by hormones.
Makes no difference to what's going on but nice to judge if it's a factor too!

Shaker21 · 12/09/2023 12:03

Has anyone had any kind of pressure down below and bit achy down there when walking yet? We had our 4D scan last night and the woman doing the scan said that his head was quite down into my pelvis so she couldn't get a good view of the top of his head from pelvis blocking it. I am assuming that it could be his head being down there that is now causing the pressure maybe? Although I don't know how long his head has been down there. I also assumed that babies head being down in the pelvis is them being/getting engaged. Is 30 weeks too early for that to be happening?

@Shaker21 ah hope you enjoyed your 4D scan! My baby wasn’t playing ball when we first went at 28 weeks but we got some better snaps at 29 weeks re-scan. They confirmed babies head was down at the 28 week scan for me & at my last 31 week midwife appt, it was still down. I’m nearly 33 weeks now so hoping he stays that way round! I haven’t get any pressure - just the constant need for the loo is increasing x

GreenAventurinee · 12/09/2023 12:14

I’ve just had a growth scan and baby girl is also head down too. She’s estimated at 3lb 1oz and is on the 10th centile still.
Im in hospital for the day. My liver is playing up. Feeling very emotional today.

DollyGx · 12/09/2023 12:16

@Shaker21 aww lovely pic of baba 🥰 I had a scan a couple of weeks ago too at 30 weeks and baby was also head down for me, was quite surprised as well as thought it was early to be head down but after googling it it seems quite normal, they may still change position too I guess, although hopefully not!

CliniMama · 12/09/2023 12:22

@Shaker21 I’ve had similar which makes my pelvic girdle pain worse.
Baby’s head moves in and out of pelvis as they wriggle around but I definitely feel more discomfort when they’re head down.
Lovely baby pic 😍

Oreopie · 12/09/2023 12:24

@Shaker21 beautiful scan! It makes me want one myself!

31 week appt last week and midwife said baby's head is down. Hopefully it stays there now. I am definitely feeling more pressure when walking now, not painful just a feeling of pressure

Shaker21 · 12/09/2023 12:27

Thanks for all replies, hopefully it is just him maybe pushing down a bit more today and will ease up once he starts wriggling and moves out slightly. I am keeping fingers crossed that he stays head down and doesn't flip!

@GreenAventurinee solidarity high fives; I’m in for the day too; possibly the next few days as suspicions are my meds are playing up - also waiting on a scan that I was booked in for today anyways to see if baby has made any progress in growth or development.
Staff seem very fraught today and no-one seems positive. Here we go again.

@Spareincoming we’ve got this, I’m sure. Hope you’re out soon!

Travellingislife · 12/09/2023 13:10

I had a growth scan today, because I’m over 40, it all seemed well thankfully. The baby is/ was lying sideways but I know he’s flipping around a lot. Last week he was head down. The want the baby to be head down by week 36 so no stress.

I’m feeling a lot more tired this pregnancy, I went on a hiking holiday last week but I had no energy, I did short treks but mostly enjoyed cake and views. It was nice to get some time away though.
In my last pregnancy I was trekking in week 35 and felt great so this is very different.

Mrsrobinsonx · 12/09/2023 15:24

@Shaker21 I have had pressure down below for ages now which sometimes feels bruised! 🙈 but the midwife said it’s because baby no 3 so each time your muscles get that bit weaker.
I don’t even know baby’s position they don’t tell me at my appointments.
I had keytones 3+ today so was told to eat and drink more 😬

BabyBabyBaby123 · 12/09/2023 18:46

Here’s my 3D scan from 29 weeks. It’s amazing how like my youngest DD’s 3D scan he looks! I didn’t get one with my eldest, as it wasn’t really a done thing and I probably wouldn’t have been able to afford it as I was a skint student when I was pregnant with her.
I’m finding my feet and ankles very swollen by the end of my work day and my shoes are becoming very uncomfortable, but we have quite a strict dress code in work, so I’m not really sure what I could buy that would be much more comfortable. I usually wear black leather brogue style shoes, does anyone have any recommendations for anything more comfortable? Once the weather makes it’s mind up and turns to actual autumn I might just start wearing my trusty Doc Martens which are well worn in, although they don’t really adhere to our dress code, I think I will be able to fight my corner to be allowed to wear them just til I go on maternity leave.
I have my 31 week midwife appointment tomorrow.

LeeanneD11 · 12/09/2023 19:44

When did everyone start getting Braxton hicks? I'm coming up to 30 weeks and just started getting them omg they are so painful it's been 5 years since having them lol , but didn't experience this earlier on is this normal? And the pressure is becoming so real now, I get told to take it easy but with 2 other children going walk you just can't take it easy on the go constantly xx

PinkPlantCase · 12/09/2023 20:06

@LeeanneD11 i had them in my first pregnancy from 20 something weeks, haven’t had them so much this time.

I think keeping hydrated can help 😊
