Amniotic fluid sludge

Hello,

I had a cervix length scan today at 16 weeks due to previous lletz, my cervix measured okay and was closed, but they picked up amniotic fluid 'sludge' near the cervix. Everything I have seen online is scaring me, it's saying about pre-term labour and infection etc.

Has anybody else had any experience on this please?

Triage have discharged me as my cervix looked ok but they could not really tell me what it was. I'm so worried :-(

I am still pregnant, 34 weeks now, however at 20 weeks labour did start and I was rushed for an emergency stitch. It's been a really stressful pregnancy but I'm so pleased it's held our baby in.

My hospital dismissed the sludge but ultimately, for me personally, it did cause my cervix to shorten and it was measuring 13mm by 20 weeks.

Do you have any plans for cervical length scans? How many weeks are you now? X

I’m 19 weeks. I already have a stitch in and my cervix is 3.1 mm at the moment! Had my first baby at 24 weeks so really hoping this stitch helps!! Did they ever do anything for your sludge? X

@Klb97xx that sounds positive, I'm pleased you have the stitch. I was given two lots of antibiotics but it did not clear it.

I also had blood tests done to see if my infection markers were up, but they were normal too. So they ruled out infection and kind of just left it.

I still have 0 idea what it is. X
