12 week scan - how much movement?

I had a 10 week scan and baby was so wriggly. I went for my 12 week scan and baby was so still, I had to wiggle my hips to get him to roll over for the sonographer. Is this normal?

It was for me. My first scan was at 12 weeks and baby was very wiggly, for my 20 week scan he didn't move much, and both times I had to wiggle my hips to get him into a better position- I just put it down to him being shy and stubborn haha. I'm 27 weeks now and baby is very healthy and lively!

As long as heart activity has been detected and you haven't heard any concerning news from the sonographer, and nothing else seems out of the ordinary, I'm sure your baby is fine 😊

I second @LotusPetals! I had to do wiggling for 2 of my scans as well. Although I could see him moving around - just think he wasn’t in best position. I wouldn’t worry x

Yes completely normal, babies do as they please even in the womb...a few times I had to go for a walk or lie on my side to be able to get a good look at baby

My first was a lazy one during my 12 week scan had to keep lifting my hips up and down to get him to move. This time around 2nd pregnancy the baby was quite active during the scan, which was good as I couldn’t see the heartbeat but seeing them moving gave me reassurance and they told me they could see the heartbeat xx
