I'm a doctor in the nhs and also size 20. I'm finding it hard as I approach the third trimester to know what to wear. Anyone got any tips? I can just tell that I'm going to balloon between my current 23 weeks and 28, and still need to see patients and look half decent!
Thank you!

I work in the nhs. I've seen a fair few doctors with bumps. I would go for smock type tops that will grow with you. Wide leg trousers with an elastic waist for bending! If there are linen type i think it would be ok. All hospitals are hot anyway. I think a loafer would be comfortable. Your feet need support. Not many places do maternity wear it appears these days. Bon Marche, although stereotyped as an old ladies shop they have lots of longer style tops and trousers with elastic. I think they go up to size 24.

I bought black maternity tea dresses. Comfy in summer and smart with decent shoes (ballerina flats by that stage from memory!).

Thanks all
Seraphine keeps popping up on my Facebook. Does anyone rate it? There is so much tat out there these days!

I don't rate seraphine bamboo nursing bras or bamboo leggings at all. However I have a couple of dresses from them which are lovely and don't even feel like 'maternity wear'

However I got those off Vinted for about a fiver as seraphine is one of the more expensive maternity brands out there, so worth having a look on Vinted for a bargain.

I have a dress and a blouse from seraphine that are lovely and looked good through all 3 trimesters, but also a pair of work trousers that didn't look great after a few washes. So I think they're a bit hit or miss

I lived in Seraphine wrap dresses, quite comfortable and look nice.

Their other stuff isn’t great.

Isabella Oliver do really good wide leg trousers

SoSad44 · 13/08/2023 14:59

Isabella Oliver and Seraphine on vinted.

I don’t rate H&M at all, Gap have some decent tops. Generally don’t invest too much, vinted etc is your friend. Before you know it you will have a baby!
