Just after some thoughts/tips/words of wisdom...
I have a big family holiday booked at the end of the month (booked last year)
parents, siblings, aunties, grandmother, cousins, nephews, the lot.
I will be 36 weeks pregnant going and 37 weeks coming back...
am i being silly even considering still going?
or am i thinking too much into it?
it's a staycation kind of holiday so still in the same country... only thing i'll obviously be miles away from my hospital and from my partner who isn't coming

and dread to think if labour was to start there what would happen

I’d probably still go tbh. Best of luck with baby OP, and enjoy your hols

If you feel up to it, you take your maternity notes and your hospital bag and you travel, hopefully accompanied by someone, to a week of memories and spoiling from your family.

Businessflake · 11/08/2023 20:19

I'd go. Just take your notes with you.

Research the nearest hospital and talent your stuff just in case. I had DS at 34+5 and was over an hour from home. I just went to the nearest hospital.

I went on holiday at 35 ish weeks ,my mother was beside herself ,i just took my notes with me.
I had a great time .

RandomMess · 11/08/2023 20:23

I just packed my notes, tens machine and baby car seat when I travelled on my due date and beyond!

Plmoknijbuhv · 11/08/2023 20:24

Everyone is different. At 36weeks with my first I went camping about 2 hours from home (30mins from nearest hospital). Husband with me though. Doesn't mean it would be right for others though. I am pretty relaxed though

Prob not the best for advice... I drove back from Spain (to uk) with 10 days to go..

lavenderdilly · 11/08/2023 22:09

I'd go if it's in the UK and you feel up to it!

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 11/08/2023 22:19

If you were to go into Labour then you'd just make your way to the nearest hospital and have baby. Not your ideal plan but manageable and at 36/37 weeks you're most likely to be out of hospital with baby pretty quickly.

I wouldn't go somewhere over an hour from a hospital

Summer2424 · 11/08/2023 22:24

Hi @SRAnna369
I would go on the holiday. Take your hospital issued pregnancy folder with you xx

Happyorchidlady · 11/08/2023 22:36

I’ve just gone back from holiday today at 36 weeks pregnant. We took the hospital bags and car seat with us just incase. If you feel well enough go and enjoy being fussed around by your family x
