So I'll start from the beginning,
I thought I had a positive test on a clearblue went to the hospital with pain on my lower left side got bloods done which were negative and negative pregnancy test! Then fast forward a few days later when my period was due went to doctor as I thought I had another positive on clearblue (faint) she sent me to a+e again the blood work for hcg was negative again and negative pregnancy test. Was sent to gyne which showed an ovarian cyst 4cm is this what I causing all the pain? It's the next day now and my period never came yesterday which I'm putting down to stress but just need some reassurance that they wouldn't of missed ectopic ?

@bp199 those clear blue tests really are a nightmare I've seen so many false positives. If the blood hcg is negative then I would put the urine tests down to a false positive. If you're going to test at home use a frer they are sensitive and less likely to have a false positive, there seems to be a shortage at the moment but I've heard the boots pink line test is pretty similar. Yes ovarian cysts can cause pain and that seems to be the most logical explanation.

Thank you so much just been such a stressful week. Clearblue are quite literally a nightmare 🙈 I just keep thinking have they missed something but just being silly 😂

Negative blood HCG is a pretty good sign there is no pregnancy.
In the absence of further symptoms/issues can you wait a week, and retest (not with a clear blue!)? It's very rare for an ectopic to create big issues before 6 weeks - the embryo is too small to damage anything in a disastrous manner (and I write this with no medical training, but one ectopic pregnancy behind me).

Yeah I think I may be overthinking. The doctors pretty much guaranteed I wasn't :( don't know why I'm getting this into my head just the test and thought I had signs
Thank you and sorry to hear of your ectopic 🌈❤️

Not a doctor, but as far as I know, ectopic pregnancy means pregnancy so hcg should rise (even if lower than in normal pregnancies). No increase in hcg means no pregnancy. Blood tests are the most reliable. I really think you're safe.

Take care!

As pp said clearblue are absolutely awful at showing lines when negative. Stick to pink dye tests. Frers have been discontinued but boots early tests are next best. If you had any sort of pregnancy including ectopic it would show on a blood test. A cyst can cause pain and can also mess up your cycles a bit.
