Post partum bleeding

Hi all just wondering what you're experiences are here...

I gave birth 10 days ago by EMCS, my bleeding wasn't too bad and two days ago it stopped. It's since restarted a little but today is much heavier. I did a bit more walking etc yesterday so possibly why but I've previously had a postpartum hemorrhage so feeling a little perturbed.

The bleeding isn't saturating pads like when I haemorrhaged previously so I don't think midwifery will be much help and my last haemorrhage was due to partially retained placenta which I'm assuming is less likely to occur after a c section.

Any experiences I'd be grateful, thank you 😊

I definitely found that being up and about would bring on a bit more bleeding.

I know how you feel, I had a haemorrhage after DD1 and was so paranoid after DD2!

There's no harm in ringing the midwife just to check since it stopped completely and has now restarted. But I'm sure mine did that.

I had an emcs with my first child and my post partum bleeding lasted about 4 weeks - not sure if it was normal or haemorrhage but a few weeks bleeding I thought was normal if you have less than that I imagine you’ve been lucky - try not to worry 😅xx

Thanks both, I was more worried about it stopping and restarting mainly because my PPH wasn't immediately after birth last time, I was home and had to be blue lighted into hospital not so much it still bleeding Day 10, I've bled much longer in previous pregnancies but the extra amount after it had faded to pink and stopped has made me a little paranoid. I'll see how today goes and give midwifery a ring if it doesn't ease up.

I had similar and MWs said it was because I'd been up and about more. Hope it resolves itself soon.

I have had 3 vaginal births, none with PPH though.

Ive always bled heavier if I have walked more or done more and it comes out in a gush sometimes.

I would say call the midwife if you are concerned about the volume. Always better to get checked out x

Sometime it's just your bodies way of telling you to slow down and that you are doing too much. Mine was always worse when I had been more active, I also bled longer second time and it was very stop start at some points too. Unless it's excessive or you are passing large clots I would try and rest as much as you can
