I'm due my second baby in December, my first will be just turned 2. Any tips on how to make this transition easier for my first born? Anything we should/shouldn't do after the birth?

Thank you 😊

DS1 was 3 when DS2 arrived so I'm not sure that this will be helpful, but we never said 'Mummy's getting a new baby' etc it was always 'DS1 is getting a baby/ a brother of his very own' etc. When the baby arrived, any time I needed to sort the baby out I tried to make it about DS1 one and make it a game, i.e. "Oh no, DS1! DS2 has done a stinky, smelly poop! What shall we do?!" DS1 would usually want to help by getting a nappy and be made to feel like the best and most important person in the world for helping.

We also had a great book called 'Baby and Me' by Lauren Gardinier.

Oh, and DS1 got to choose a present to give the baby.
