Spotting in 2nd trimester

Has anyone had this? I didn’t have any in my previous pregnancy. I had nothing, not even implantation bleeding in my first trimester.

About a week ago (15 weeks pregnant) I had some and it was the morning after sex, so I wondered if that was it. Then today again (16 weeks). It’s pink and on a few pieces of tissue in the toilet, nothing going into underwear. Everything I read on nhs said it’s not a cause for concern but it’s a bit scary!

And the one today I have no ‘reason’ for eg no sex or vaginal exam

I would talk you your midwife/GP, maybe they can get you booked for a scan or something?

You’re right probably not a cause for concern, but I would still just it checked out xx

hi @BiscuitLover3678 I hope it all worked out OK for you. I'm in the same boat - just had some spotting at 15 weeks after no bleeding whatsoever this pregnancy - and wondered how this went on for you?

It was absolutely fine and I was told this isn’t uncommon. It actually never happened again! Apparently the cervix can be quite sensitive and especially early on.

I now have a three month old baby girl. Good luck!

I did actually have quite a low placenta btw so maybe it was that? I know that can cause bleeding later on. But it moved anyway.

How kind of you to update. Thank you and congratulations on your little girl!
I'm sure I'll be fine, I'm in for an anti-D shot as I'm rhesus negative but had a scan (planned for today anyway) and baby is looking great.

Thanks for the update. This is happening to me too, from 15 weeks to 20 weeks on / off. I'm praying it stops!
