Im considering on my private 7 week scan opting to do the blood test to determine the babies sex. Its a bundle offer the clinic are offering. Anyone else done one.

I've heard its far more accurate if done in clinic rather than a home test because of contamination of male DNA.

I've got 3 girls already and always fount out the sex depending on the new things offered at the time. My eldest is 18 so had to wait for the 20 week hns scan for that and my 14 year old but my 10 month old I had everything offered 😂 was all good fun expensive but good fun.

I had NIPT done at 9 weeks and they were able to tell me the sex. It was 100% accurate but we chose not to find out x

I had the nipt test though thought you couldn't do it til 10 weeks lol. Was accurate

VillageFete · 07/08/2023 14:42

Only the NIPT is completely accurate. There’s room for error with sneak peak.

I had the Panorama test done to check for a multitude of abnormalities. It told me fetal sex was female, and the nub theory, 16 week scan and 20 week scan all pointed towards female too.

I had a harmony test done and they told me (correctly) that I was having a girl at 11 weeks gestation

Quite right. It was at ten weeks. This is what I went for. They blanked out the chromosome part for me

Yes, I got my Harmony test results back yesterday! I think it should only be done from 10 weeks though for accurate results

Is this gender blood test available through the NHS in UK?

I wouldn’t have thought so as no medical need for it.

There's no such thing as a gender blood test.
A sex blood test can be booked privately.

@samantha0405 the PP was being pedantic with Gender and Sex. Its not about you, but about them.

Friggingfrog · 08/08/2023 12:42

My friend did an at home one and it was wrong

Farcry66 · 08/08/2023 12:52

We've just got the results back for our sneak peak test! The sonographer thought it was a girl, but said she couldn't be completely sure - and we know 3 couples in the last year who have been told girl and baby turned out to be a boy.

We paid £79 for our sneak peek test, from reading about it, it has room for error if there are males in the house as it can contaminate the sample. I locked myself in room to do it. Results came in this morning confirming it was a girl!

Looks like there is such thing... https://sneakpeektest.com/uk/

I did this two times. Both were correct.

Yolo2023 · 08/08/2023 15:12

i will only be about 7 ish weeks i think, well to be honest who knows. I took the morning after pill in june started my AF 5 days late only bled for 2 days and on the first day i started my mini pill as instructed by the doctor. I felt really off last week and did a clear blue digital it said 2.3 weeks. my period wasnt due for another 4 days but i knew those signs lol. So either the morning after pill didnt work or i ovulated on time the month after even though my period came late if that makes sense.

No.

Peony654 · 08/08/2023 15:14

I’m not finding out at all because it doesn’t matter.

Personally I’ve found it helped me to feel more connected, I can call him a he/him! And really helps with only having to think of boys names now.

Yolo2023 · 08/08/2023 15:28

@Peony654 some people like a surprise, some people like to find out. I suppose this is all part of enjoying your pregnancy the way you would like to. I love finding out as soon as possible.
