@RedRobyn2021 - spring babies 💐 hadn’t thought about it until you said, but yes! Does seem like a good time!

@Ellenn I am 4+4 and have a scan booked for 2nd sept! Also can’t wait. Think I’ll be able to relax a bit more then and tell family etc.

I have just read Emily Oster - Expecting Better, which gives you all the data about common things you should/shouldn’t do in pregnancy (caffeine, alcohol, food, exercise, weight gain etc) so you can make your own informed decisions. I loved it and feel so much less overwhelmed about what I am allowed and not allowed to do!

Misty84 · 16/08/2023 11:42

Aww congratulation @Ellenn! I know how it feels to be trying for so long…4 years here. Very special and hopeful time for us 🙏

@CRbear What did it say about caffeine? I’ve been having max one coffee a day- but I do feel guilty about it…not sure whether it’s ok or not.

I’m 5+4 today, time is CRAWLING along!😩

CRbear · 16/08/2023 11:53

@Misty84 -It says there’s no evidence that up to 3 cups or 300mg a day causes any ill effects! I’ve been having decaf but where it isn’t available I’ve had a normal one. So empowering to have the knowledge.

Interestingly caffeine might not actually be an issue at all. It could actually be nausea rather than caffeine. The outcomes are better for babies whose mums have had nausea. And women who have nausea don’t tend to drink coffee.

Also - no impact on baby of having one drink (125ml wine) every day from 2nd trimester onwards. I don’t think I’ll be doing it but still good to know.

Misty84 · 16/08/2023 12:17

Ah thanks @CRbear so my one cup is ok then🙂
Heheh yes the alcohol is a mental step too far but like you say, good to know!

Ellenn · 16/08/2023 12:56

@Misty84 did you have a transfer? Must have been the week before me! Infertility is so awful isn’t it, wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. Do you have a scan booked? Mine is bang on 7 weeks eek.

this morning had some brown/pink spotting so got a bit worried this one might go same way as previous two transfers. Trying hard to distract myself to not think about it.

@CRbear tbats interesting!! I usually love coffee but now can’t have it in the mornings, sometimes if nausea goes away I manage a cup in the afternoon. Nice to know about the wine, think will give miss though I’m way too paranoid!! Might see if I can get a copy of it, is it worth a read?

Hey 👋 hoping I can join, due in April all being well. Had my first ever BFP yesterday at 13DPO after over 2 years TTC and just a couple of weeks away from starting IVF. Very surreal, absolutely praying everything progresses well. I think I’m exactly 4 weeks at 14DPO… lines are nice and strong so trying to be hopeful! 🙏 Hoping to book a scan for 7 weeks.

Valentina123 · 16/08/2023 14:57

Hi everyone! I am 6 weeks pregnant, due 8 April. This is my second one. I have a son who’s three and a half. I’m very happy but also anxious. I suffer from quite bad health anxiety and pregnancy makes it worse as now I worry for 2 people. Am also feeling quite emotional. The hormones can be overwhelming. Looking forward to the second trimester when they should settle down.

Misty84 · 16/08/2023 15:12

Hey @Ellenn no it wasn’t a transfer, it was natural conception. I’ve had ivf twice before but never had anything to transfer☹️ (really low egg reserve).
I’ve been pregnant once before but that ended in MC at 10 weeks. It’s been a long, emotional journey!😩 Therefore, even though I’m pregnant, it’s still really hard for me to imagine it working out…
Oh I’m sorry to hear about your spotting, hopefully it’s nothing to worry about although I know we worry about everything at this early stage! Praying for you 🙏🙏🙏

Misty84 · 16/08/2023 15:14

@CRbear I kinda wish I had a bit of nausea as that would be reassuring! I only have sore boobs though and a sort of tugging sensation in my stomach.

@dory0 Wow amazing timing!! Yes I’ll also be having scan at 7 weeks 🙂

CRbear · 16/08/2023 16:16

@Ellenn i think it’s 100% worth a read personally! I was so reassured.

@Misty84 what a miracle!! No wonder you feel apprehensive. Thinking of you. I also only have sore boobs and some quite bad cramping though that does feel like it’s easing off.

@dory0 i also have a scan booked for 7 weeks! 2 weeks on Saturday. We were also waiting to get fertility assistance- I have PCOS and my husband had a bad sperm test. I hope for the both of us we get to skip IVF!

Congratulations @Valentina123

Ttcmumma · 05/08/2023 21:43

Hey! I'll be due around 11th April if I'm lucky enough to keep this one ❤️ have a 5 year old son and a little angel in the sky that I lost at 14 weeks in January so very anxious this time x

@Ttcmumma Feel like we're having the exact same experience! I have a 6 year old and lost my little Angel at 15 weeks (my boy was 5 at the time). I'm currently 6+5, due early April. Fingers crossed for us all 🤞🏻 🌈

Ttcmumma · 16/08/2023 19:04

@gskay83 so sorry to hear of your loss too! Wouldn't wish the pain on anyone. Fingers crossed these are our little rainbow babies x

NinaGeiger · 16/08/2023 20:02

Hi everyone! I just had a positive test!
Due date seems to be 25th April.

I have a baby who turned 2 yesterday! Had 2 miscarriages before her and then hyperemesis with her so not expecting an easy ride.

I loved the Emily Oster book.

Ellenn · 16/08/2023 21:15

@Misty84 so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, thats amazing naturally conceived already passed so many hurdles. Hopefully these are our rainbow babies 😍

no more spotting apart from tiny bit this morning of brown so hopefully it stays that way. I started my lubion progesterone today, gosh its painful afterwards!! hopefully will help it stick there. Literally counting down 15 days to go till my scan, anyone else doing this?

@CRbear might grab a copy if my scan goes well/I get that far!

hey 👋@NinaGeiger @Valentina123 @dory0 and anyone I've missed congrats on your positive tests!!

nmt1996 · 21/08/2023 15:48

Hi everyone! I enjoyed reading through this post. How exciting that were all having babies in April!

I may have missed a few posts but wondering has anyone had an early scan yet?

I went for a scan at 5 weeks 5 days and fetal pole was measuring 3.3mm, she said everything looks good and on track but was unable to detect the heartbeat, said it was probably too early.

Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?

April 2024 babies
Ellenn · 21/08/2023 17:14

@nmt1996 congrats!! Amazing news, it think it’s normally from 6 weeks to see heartbeat properly 🙂 so maybe see if you can wait a week cause it will be much easier/clearer to see!

I have my scan booked at 7 wks on the 31st august so anxiously counting down the days, I hope this wee embryo is still going strong 🤞

Valentina123 · 23/08/2023 16:00

Congratulations! I think 5 weeks is too early for heartbeat. I had a scan a few days ago at 7 weeks and could see the baby’s heartbeat so it put my mind at ease. I suffer from health anxiety so it was really helpful.

Misty84 · 25/08/2023 19:19

I’ve got my first scan on Tuesday (will be 7+3 then), I’m really excited and hopeful!

@nmt1996 Yes that is too early to see a heartbeat- when will you have your next one?
@Ellenn Your scan is just a few days after mine- exciting times!
@Valentina123 That’s great news! I wish there was a window to the womb so that we could keep checking that everything is ok in there!

31andTrying · 28/08/2023 17:38

Hi ladies 👋🏽

Just wanted to join this thread too! Currently 8 weeks + 3 with my first pregnancy (suffered 3 b2b chemical losses around 5-6 weeks within the last year), hoping for my April rainbow baby!
Taking progesterone and all seeming well up to now so 🤞🏽.

I hope you are all getting on well! X

Emmerdaleaddict · 28/08/2023 18:35

Hi everyone! I got a positive test today again and think I'm due around 28/4, this will be my second as I already have a little one who will be nearly 3 in April 2024!
Do we have a Facebook/WhatsApp group going?

CRbear · 29/08/2023 11:30

Hi everyone! I had a horrible bleed last week and thought it was all over. I wasn’t even going to seek help as i was only 5+6 and didn’t think anyone would be able to do anything/care! My sister and best friend insisted and I’m so glad I called the GP. They referred me to EPAU and I had a scan that showed a haematoma was the cause for the bleeding and nothing to worry about. We couldn’t see the baby yet- but was assured that fit with my dates- and I’m going back in a couple of weeks to check viability. So good news is bleeding (and I mean a lot of blood!) isn’t always bad. However I feel very detached/numb now - maybe self preservation! Hopefully feel a bit more excited after the next scan when we hopefully see a heartbeat. Doesn’t help that I don’t have any sickness at 6+3 so it’s hard to believe anything is actually happening! Hope everyone else is doing well!

Misty84 · 30/08/2023 13:24

Hey @CRbear I’m so glad it was ok! I also had a bleed at around 6 weeks and was so heartbroken- thought it was over! But it stopped and like you it was ok too, Phew!!! I’ve just had my first scan at 7 and a half weeks and saw the heartbeat! Such a special moment 🤍
Also I don’t have any sickness either so don’t worry about that!

Ellenn · 31/08/2023 17:30

Hey everyone, unfortunately my 7 wk scan today didn’t go well and showed an unviable pregnancy. I wish everyone all the best with their pregnancies and hope you get healthy babies xxx

Misty84 · 31/08/2023 19:23

I’m so very, very sorry to hear that @Ellenn 😞

CRbear · 05/09/2023 15:58

@Ellenn what a horrible shock for you, I’m so sorry that had happened.
