Mucas Plug?

Hi Guys,
I had my 3rd membrane sweep yesterday afternoon and still nothing! My second was Tuesday and since then I have been losing what I think is my plug/bloody show then yesterday I had a thorough sweep and just lost another huge load of brown mucas/jelly. Is it normal for me to be losing so much over the last 5 days?

I had my baby a few months ago and was expecting the mucus plug to come out as one bit and then be done but mine kept coming for days and whenever I spoke to the midwife I was assured it was normal! I had my first sweep at 39 weeks and nothing happened then sweep 2 at 39+3 lost some mucus then again after sweep 3 at 39+5 then I went into labour at 39+6 and still losing mucus at that point. During labour it was still coming too and the midwife even had to scoop loads out. So I hope that reassures you a bit, I imagine people will have had all different experiences, but if you have any concerns definitely ring your midwife and get some reassurance from them as well. The colour of my mucus went from a light brownish colour to a darker colour on the day I went into labour too so fingers crossed it happens for you soon and good luck, hope it all goes well 🙂

I had my first sweep at 38 weeks then again at 39 and then my 3rd yesterday at 39+3. She said I’m 2cm dilated and my cervix is still a tiny bit hard which is annoying. Getting a few niggles here and there but nothing major yet! Praying it happens soon as I’m trying to avoid induction!! X

It definitely sounds like things are moving along! I was the same as you but only 1cm at sweeps 2 and 3 and from sweep 2 I thought I was in labour every day and then it would go away! I also wanted to avoid induction which is why I had sweeps, just try and relax as much as you can as you're more likely to go into labour if you're relaxed apparently! Just try and catch up on sleep while you can if you're not too uncomfortable and make the most of drinking a hot drink while it's hot 😂 before you know it your baby will be here and you'll be sat round in your pyjamas at 3pm nap trapped (my current situation 😂) good luck!
