Hello, yesterday I called triage with some shooting pains in my lower left abdomen. Having a 5cm ovarian cyst where the pain was I thought it was most probably related to that. When I was in the day assessment unit they suggested a swab to rule out earlier labour. I was shocked when the result came back positive as my cervix is closed and have had no loss of fluids/ contractions etc. can anyone share their experience of having a positive fetal fibronectin? Did it result in an early birth or not? Just feeling so scared and wanted this to be a straight forward pregnancy as my only other pregnancy experience is ectopic 😞. Thank you x

I had this positive test at 30 weeks but didn't deliver until 40+6. They can be positive for various reasons like sex or the gel they use on the speculum
