Sleepsuits or bodysuits and leggings??

I have zipper sleepsuits and kimono bodysuits and legging sets and don’t know which will be easier in hospital!

Sleepsuits and bodysuits for underneath

Take a couple of long sleeve suits, short sleeve suits and sleep suits in newborn and 0-3. Don’t bother either leggings!

a nice hack someone told me was to put a vest, sleepsuit, hat, scratch mits and a nappy in a zip lock bag, and have several of them. Write on the front of the back “first outfit new born” or 0-3 or coming home outfit etc. makes them easy to grab and have everything together in one go. Especially useful if you end up in theatre or if your partner needs to grab the clothes quickly etc!

Yep I did this and it was v helpful. Doing it again, I would make sure my sleepsuits had covers for the baby's hands instead of buying mitts I never used. Personally 0-3 was way too huge for baby in hospital but depends on size....

Sleep suits. Don’t get newborn, try “up to 1 month” which is usually up to around 10lb depending on brand. DC2 was (unexpectedly) large and he went straight into 0-3 (although his feet were still too big for them). I didn’t take 0-3 with me to the hospital because I was measuring normally and wasn’t expecting him to be 2lb heavier than my previous baby, that was a mistake. The hospital was boiling so was in just a vest most of the time. I do wonder if this was due to his size though, all the other babies on the ward were smaller and were delicately bundled up in sleep suits and blankets.

Sleepsuits and vest for underneath. Leggings and outfits don’t fit babies probably for a few weeks anyway.

Sleep suits and vests. I second don't bother with newborn and stick to up to one month, unless you are expecting a small baby

Sleepsuits and body suits. Also cardis, hats and socks. Don’t bother with leggings or any other sort of outfit for the first few months, just stick to body suit and sleepsuits.

Had my first baby nearly 11 weeks ago and honestly, the amount of "outfits" people have bought her that she hasn't worn.

I packed 3 newborn vests, 3 newborn babygrows, 2 0-3 vests and 2 0-3 babygrows. She weighed a tiny 5lb 15oz and my DH had to go out and buy some tiny baby babygrows and vests (only got 7 of each). After being in newborn since 3 weeks, she only went in to 0-3 last week!

Good luck and congratulations! X

Yes I would agree sleepsuits. People bought me outfits for my son and they were a PITA. Not the leggings, but the tops were a faff and his socks kept falling off. Congrats :)
