From what week are you eligible for the MAT B1 certificate?

I'm 10 weeks, can I just go into the doctors and request a form?

I was told I’ll be getting mine at 24 weeks. Not sure if that’s cross the board though

You get it after 20 weeks from your midwife

They're given from 20 weeks on (this is on a government website)- I was given mine at my 20 week scan by my midwife. Hope this helps and congrats :-)

You get it about halfway through pregnancy. But you can tell your employer before you get the Mat b1 if that's what you're concerned about.

You can also apply for the free-prescription certificate as soon as you book in (at 10w or whatever). It takes a couple of weeks to process

I got mine at 24 weeks but it varies. Don't think you get them before the 20th week of pregnancy at the earliest.

Not a mat B1, but you can get your maternity exemption certificate from the time your pregnancy is confirmed - this gives you free prescriptions, dental etc. your midwife needs to apply for it for you.

After 20 weeks. Usually at the 24 week appointment and usually needs to go to your employer around 25 weeks. You only get one though so don’t lose it and make copies in case partner needs it for paternity

I asked for mine at 22 weeks because my employer was being impatient to get the proof 🙄 my midwife happily sent it through the post. But then I was told at my 26 week appt I shouldn't have had it until I turned up for that appt. She was really annoyed about it for some reason but oh well. She ended up giving me another copy in case my husband needed it for his employment.

They can't issue them before 20 weeks
Usually you'll be given it at your 24w appointment. But you can ask for it sooner (just not before 20 weeks)
