Anyone else? Is it normal? I've had tonsillitis, flu, 2 chest infections and am again full of cold, green mucus & sore throat. I am currently 6m pregnant.
I said to my oh I think it's this house, it needs representation & gets dusty & has some mold in places. Or could it be that he smokes in the garage? And its coming through.
I only recently moved in then became pregnant. I was never sick in old house in years.
He said Its because I'm unfit / unhealthy but I don't think I am, I eat plenty of fruit, protein, salad & am on the go each day.
Could it be my immune system down due to being pregnant? I can't remember getting ill when I had my other children.

Your immune system does lower when you’re pregnant, so could well be due to that. I’d be looking to get rid of any mould and sorting out the cause before baby comes though.

As PP your immune system need is reduced so your body doesn’t attack the baby. You need to get the house sorted before the baby come. And the smoke from the garage will be coming through and off OH. What’s his plan for smoking? He needs to wait 30 mins and have a full change of clothing after smoking and before touching the baby. That isn’t practical.

He only smokes of a night after I've gone to bed. I have told him he needs to wash and change before getting Into bed. Not sure if he did though.
The house is big and the mould is at the back in the gym & part or the kitchen cupboards what we don't use, no where near where the baby will be. But I agree it's not ideal.

Surely the baby will be in the kitchen at times? The spores will be in the air in your house.

As for the smoking your baby will be awake a lot of the night. When will your OH smoke then or are you going to be solo responsible for baby? What happens if you have a c section and can’t lift the baby by yourself?

@CFornot I'm going to be breastfeeding hopefully so I will be doing all the feeds plus he's only taking a week or 2 off work so will need a full night's sleep.

10% of first time Mums have a c section. When I did despite bf I needed help during the night because I couldn’t get out of bed/sit up by myself.

People are free to choose their own behaviour and risks for their children. 17,000 under 5 in the UK are admitted to hospital every week due to second hand smoke. It’s not a risk I would be willing to take.

This is my 3rd I'm praying I don't need a section as I've 2 to get to school every day
