Racing heart, midwife won't advise

I've had a racing heart for a month now. Not sure if it's anxiety or something else.

I am under the care of perinatal due to being bipolar.

I don't think I have anything to warranty being anxious about.

GP said it's best to speak to perinatal as she's not sure on medication.

I called perinatal and just waiting for a call back.

I asked if it could be related to another issue with the pregnancy and she said she wasn't a medic so couldn't advise.

Where would I go from here? High bmi so consultant lead.

Do I call my midwife?

I'd go to A&E personally - they can give you a proper check over.

Has she checked your iron levels? I had anaemia during pregnancy and had a racing heart.

Hi. Yeah bloods have recently been taken and the ECG at A&E was fine. I don't think it's a proper ecg but heart rate fine.

Do you mean your gp won’t advise, not the midwife? Or have you already messaged the midwife? If you haven’t already then yes message the midwife, then you’ve got perinatal and midwife looking into it.

Midwives are saying it's not their domain and to contact GP. GP told me to contact perinatal. Perinatal are waiting for their consultant/staff to review.

I don't know if I can really go back to my GP as he's already said perinatal. I'm having this anxiety now - I'm not sure if it's anxiety/panic attack.

I had this in my last pregnancy. Go checked my thyroid levels as it can be a symptom. They were fine and I was told palpitations are a pregnancy side effect.

Most phones have a heart rate monitor. It'll be in your health/Google Fit bit. It'll at least give you an idea if your actual heart rate.
