Chemical miscarriage?

Hi everyone,

I had a missed miscarriage back in Jan, fetus stopped developing at 6 weeks but we didn’t know until I bled at 11 weeks.

We just started trying again this past month, I’m pretty clued up as to when I ovulate and thought we timed it perfectly. I really thought I was pregnant, I had become more tired than usual, feeling nauseous, sore boobs, a bit constipated.. and my period was two days late. Then I started bleeding, light pink at first (thought implantation bleeding), but the past 24 hours it’s been much heavier than a regular period, clots (similar to prev miscarriage but not as extreme as that was further along), and also really painful cramps which I don’t normally have with periods. I didn’t do a pregnancy test until yesterday, which was negative (this was after the bleeding had started though so probs too late) - but do you reckon this could be a chemical miscarriage?

If anyone has been through multiple miscarriages in a row has any advice, greatly appreciated. We do have a 1 year old, so I have been pregnant and given birth before thankfully.

Thanks everyone, feeling a bit shit and let down in my body today!

I would say it is just a period. A chemical pregnancy still has some hCG, which can carry on for a while. Your pregnancy test would have been positive if you had had gotten pregnant.

It is important to remember that those symptoms are actually period symptoms (and undetectable levels of hCG dont cause nausea).

Im sorry this wasnt a successful cycle, Hopefully it will work out next time!

It just sounds like a slightly longer cycle (which can give a heavier period if you are used to a regular period). Keep trying - it's so hard trying to conceive after loss as you tend to assume the worst is happening/will happen. Hope you get a BFP soon.
