Yep on both my son's I knew before being scanned or anything, I was adamant on my first he was a boy immediately we couldn't find out until well after 6 months (awkward position) & on my second I was confident he was a boy & my consultant confirmed that he was at 16 weeks not definitively but she was fairly certain & yep he was a boy 🤣

flightless55 · 29/07/2023 12:01

I felt baby was a girl first time and was right. Feeling this time it's a girl too - be interesting to see if I'm right again :D

Littledogball · 29/07/2023 12:23

You mean sex, presumably?! Let's try and use the correct words....

Poppins2016 · 29/07/2023 12:26

I was wrong with my first, right with my second. Guess there's always a 50/50 chance 🤣

PickledScrump · 29/07/2023 17:00

My first I thought boy until I picked a girl name then I new she was a girl and that was her name. Second I thought was boy as completely different but another girl. Third I said from the start was definitely a girl and she is. So 1/3

PissOffJeffrey · 29/07/2023 17:02

I was absolutely convinced my eldest was a boy and was right. I wasn't really so sure with the younger two.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 29/07/2023 17:30

I thought I was having a boy both times. This was largely wishful thinking.
I was right once, wrong once.

BabyBabyBaby123 · 29/07/2023 18:58

I was convinced this baby was a girl after my 2 other DDs. 20 week scan says boy! So no, I was wrong 😂
I found out at 20 weeks with DD1 and had no clue and had no idea with DD2 but kept it a surprise til birth.

mumtotwox · 29/07/2023 19:25

Convinced both were boys and indeed they were. I'm very 50/50 this time round but swaying more towards a boy 😆

🙄

LaughOutInTheGrass · 29/07/2023 19:29

We found out the sex of both of our children at our 20 week scans. I thought boy both times, first was a boy, second was a girl.

Thankfully they are gender critical teenagers. 🙏🏻 😬

Parsley1234 · 29/07/2023 19:33

@Littledogball yes

Chanhedforthis · 29/07/2023 22:20

Thought i was having a boy both times, they're both girls 😂

Pregnant with no. 3 and think its another girl but we'll see!

Okayletsgoo · 29/07/2023 22:46

Yes, I had a strong feeling when I found out I was pregnant that it was a girl, and I was right! 😊

DappledThings · 29/07/2023 22:49

I had a very strong feeling DS was a boy. And he was. But given that it is just as likely I was going to be wrong as right it is absolute nonsense that the feeling means anything at all.

And yes, despite the eye roll emoji, you mean sex not gender and it does matter.

Agreed.
BTW, for those who care about safeguarding children, there is an important petition link over on the petitions board.

Yes I always know before I get the 12 week scan it’s weird. With my son I just had a feeling when I found out(no morning sickness and only a lightheaded weird headache the week before missed period) and with my daughter I just knew straight away when I took the test, at 10 weeks I was buying girls clothes(travel sickness feeling the week before missed period and morning sickness throughout pregnancy).

There’s always one…

During both scans with my children I was asked, ‘Would you like to know the gender?’ It’s very easy to use the wrong terminology when a bloody professional is

RuthW · 29/07/2023 23:22

I didn't know. It wasn't allowed in 1997 in my area. (Rules changed 4 days after my scan).

I 'knew' it was a boy.

She was a girl!

Peony654 · 30/07/2023 07:19

No one knows in advance how their child will express their gender identity.

Summermeadowflowers · 30/07/2023 07:23

I was right both times with mine. I knew DS was a boy despite more ‘old wives tales’ indicating girl. We had the harmony test so I found out his sex then (I agree it is important but without context I don’t think people appreciate this, it does come over as a snarky comment.)

With DD, I didn’t find out as I did have a preference for a girl and I didn’t want to feel any sense of disappointment if told it was a boy. But I sensed she was a girl anyway. Still couldn’t quite believe it when she came out Smile

Roollie · 30/07/2023 07:31

I knew as soon as I had a positive test that my son was a boy. Just knew.

I think deep down I knew my 2nd was a girl but didn't want to say it out loud in case of what people thought (didn't want a boy etc.).

jadey1991 · 30/07/2023 12:25

Hi op,
With my 3rd child I had a gut instinct it was a boy and when I had my scan it confirmed I was indeed having a boy.
I'm currently pregnant with my 4th and I thought I was having a boy due to the symptoms I had. But I was wrong lol. I'm having another girl 💕 I'm so excited.

Shinea · 27/10/2023 15:32

Sorry for the late update! occupied with newborn and toddler xx

As I always thought I was blessed with baby boy in August, he is 11 weeks old now!! So this fun theory holds good for me 😛
