Twin Prams

Any good recommendations for a double pram in which the babies will be next to each other rather than one in-front of the other? Asking for a friend.

(picked ours up on marketplace for £200 and bought a new mattress for the carrycot) *toddler and baby, not twins

My SIL had a bugaboo donkey for her twins and loved it. It was so easy to manoeuvre and steer considering it's a double, and a decent size basket underneath.

I loved it so much that when we had dd2 we got one for our 2 girls (there's a 2 year age gap) as you can have different configurations for the 2 seats (we had 1 carrycot and 1 seat) as well as the additional basket if I had just 1 child with me. It made shopping so much easier as I would use that instead of getting a basket at the supermarket!

I am another donkey lover! I have mostly used it in single with basket mode, due to ages. It us super flexible to your needs though and very easy to use.

We have a donkey too and it is our favourite baby purchase. We absolutely love it.

We have the Mountain Buggy Duet with the Carrycot Plus for Twins. It's the most multifunctional twin pram and buggy, and is also much more compact than alternatives like the Donkey, which was important for us as we live in London and use public transport a lot.
The babies sit side-by-side in the bassinet until 6m - we preferred this to other twin pram options like the iCandy which are double-decker. At 6m the bassinet converts into parent-facing sling seats. At 12m you then have standard buggy seats. The whole thing is only the width of a standard wheelchair so fits through all shop doors and aisles, plus buses etc. It's not as luxurious as the iCandy or Bugaboo options but I think much more practical.

I went straight for the Nipper 360.

I have twins. Most of the twin parents I know trade in their Donkeys for either the MB or Out n About double by about 12 months… the width and weight (esp if humping into a car boot) is quite prohibitive.

3isthemagicnumberrr · 27/07/2023 21:31

We had a donkey and swapped for an out n about when DTs were 1. Most of our twin friends have either a donkey or MB from birth, and out n about or joie later on.

FOUR SOLID WHEELS Put n about nipper. We swapped it to the stupid friigging 3 inflatable wheels and I rue the very day I clicked buy. LOVED my other one but it was second hand and eventually died.

We have the Bugaboo Donkey for our baby and 2 year old. It is great. It also reduces in size if you are just taking 1 of them out. Though even in double size it gets through a normal door no problem.

Ladyj84 · 28/07/2023 02:39

I got rid of our side by side utter nightmare getting past cars on pavements or constantly stopping to allow people past.

Twimum23 · 28/07/2023 09:46

I got mine from The Slate Barn, Wallingford Rd, Wallingford OX10 8DY
they have loads in there

Hi just a quick question for all the bugaboo donkey lovers... May I ask what car you have!? I'm going to need a bigger car anyway but really need to consider the boot. I've been looking at the bugaboo donkey 5 today.

Hyundai Tucson.
We bought it pre kids with future planning because of the boot. However once the donkey is in there isnt huge room for anything else. You can get the odd bag in and balance stuff on top of it.

My OH was a childminder. Tried all sorts. Mountain buggy by far the best for pushing, getting through standard doors, babies right up to ages 4.

BexJ82 · 25/09/2023 20:51

Mountain Buggy Duet with Carrycot Plus for Twins. The Swiss army knife of twin buggys. Can't recommend it enough.

IVFGotThis05 · 28/09/2023 14:28

I'm going for either mountain buggy or mychild, I've had really good recommendations with both! Anything to make my life easier with two little ones as a first time Mam!
