Hi, just looking a bit of advice. I have pcos and have t had a period since feb 2021. I had taken unwell a few weeks ago and found out I’m pregnant. I got my 3+ weeks in my clear blue test back on July 12th. I’m not sure when I ovulated or when I should book a
private early scan (I don’t want to book it too early). Our nhs booking appointment isnt until 12 week mark. I mentioned in my referral I’m not sure how far I am

I would definitely book a private scan ASAP, saying it says 3+ you could be anywhere in pregnancy, from what I've seen most people don't get 3+ until there around 6 weeks, I didn't get mine till 9. and you got this BFP 2 weeks ago.. definitely book one! are you showing or having any symptoms? Goodluck OP x

Ask your gp to refer you for a dating scan now - and get a scan on the nhs you could be much more than 3 weeks

eatdrinkandbemerry · 27/07/2023 17:03

Book a private scan x
I didn't have a period for over three years (pcos) and when I found out I was pregnant I was 26 weeks 😳.
No bump no symptoms nothing 🤷‍♀️😂

allgoodthings84 · 27/07/2023 17:09

3+ means you could be anything 5 weeks or more. I would have a scan asap. Call your doctor and say you have no idea how far along you are as you’ve only had a test saying 3+ weeks (which is 5 weeks or more) and have no idea when you ovulated because of your pcos and no periods. They should refer you for an nhs scan as you could be further along than you think.

I’ve had sore boobs from the 15th June. The last two weeks I’ve had bad sickness all day. Symptom wise that’s all I have so far. I’ve booked a scan for next Thursday 🤞🏼

@ncg92 I’m so glad you’ve booked a scan. I had sore boobs from 3.5 weeks pregnant and nausea started around 5.5/6 weeks so you could definitely be further along than you think. Some people’s symptoms start later but I think the average is 6 weeks.

Get in touch with the EPU op. Similar happened to me and they scanned me the next day. I was over 20 weeks!

CrispAppleStrudels · 27/07/2023 23:21

Congratulations @ncg92 !! Lots of good advice on this thread but for you (after you have your baby) and @eatdrinkandbemerry, i have severe PCOS and my endocrinologist told me fewer than 3 periods a year can potentially cause longer term risks. There are drugs that can help bring on a bleed each month. So might be worth a chat with the GP or endocrinologist (if you see one) for their advice when you are ready?

uncomfortablydumb53 · 27/07/2023 23:51

Congratulations!
You might find you're further on than you think and are over the nausea stage without knowing

ncg92 · 28/07/2023 06:12

i Was sue to get mexy progesterone to start a bleed but I found out I was pregnant before I was able to start it. I have it for if I need it after the pregnancy. We were also due to start medicated cycles we had postponed them for a year as we get married next July, life had other plans for us, decided this
little miracle should come along. 🤞🏼 it all goes well

Congratulations OP!
I had similar in that I didn't know how far I was. I went to the GP and he thought I was 7 weeks. I booked in for a private scan the same week and found I was 20 weeks!

ChequeredPastel · 28/07/2023 07:20

Oooo keep us posted!

newmummie · 03/08/2023 13:16

Good luck OP with your scan. Update us! ❤️

ncg92 · 03/08/2023 16:29

Just to update scan went really good. Got to hear the heartbeat. Measuring at 8weeks and five days. Ahead of what we thought we were.
