Induction at 37 weeks

If you had one was baby's lungs OK?
I've been offered one at 37 weeks for medical reasons, but also because the consultant truly does not want to give me the C section I've asked for, instead putting fear of death for both baby and I if I choose a ECS.

I'm worried about bringing baby 37 weeks, one of my babies was born 35 weeks and had no issues but not induced, just eager to meet us!

DS1 was induced at 35 weeks. He was absolutely fine except he didn't have a sucking reflex and so Breastfeeding was a battle. But no other issues.

He's now 26 and very healthy.

It’s stupid of consultant not to give you your wish… I had an induction at 37 weeks (I was also denied an elective CS) then I had to have an EMCS anyway. His lungs are fine! He was perfectly fine just little :) good luck and congratulations x

I have had 2 babies induced at 37 weeks. I was given steroids for their lungs 2 days prior to induction both times and neither had any issues with their lungs. Both were in special care but that was due to early onset jundice.

I was induced at 37 weeks due to my age and gestational diabetes. They told me dd would be huge.
She was 8lb 6oz and had hairy ears and hair down her back. They put her in a hot cot and checked her temp and blood sugar every 3 hours for the first 24 hrs
She was a little yellow but didn't go fully yellow till day 4. Consultant told us to take her home and give her fresh air.
No scbu. No lung issues.
16 and 6ft now.

I was induced at 37 weeks due to my baby being small, she was 4”8 but absolutely fine, no issues with her lungs or anything.
I know everyone’s inductions are different and I was worried that at 37 weeks it would take days as baby would be nowhere near ready to come but I went in to hospital Saturday and she was born Sunday night.

Both mine were inductions at 37 weeks.

Started at anyway. With the second, the continuation was delayed by a few days as I kept being bumped down the list by higher priority patients. Babies born at 37+1 and 37+6 respectively.

Lungs were absolutely fine with both. Second was slightly gunked up with mucus after birth which needed a tiny amount of suction to help clear, but that was down to the C-section.
