Light leaking?

Hi all,

I am an anxious mama of 1 and multiple losses... currently 18weeks pregnant and on a lovely family holiday with another week to go. I noticed last night I had a VERY slight leak of some sort and have no idea if it was pee, discharge or amniotic fluid and have myself in a bit of a spin. How would I know if I wad experiencing PPROM? I plan to go to a Dr tomorrow if i am still worried as don't want it wrecking the rest of my holiday but just wanted some advice from the trusty and knowledgeable mums-netters? I know membrane rupture is VERY rare at this stage but after the experiences I've had nothing seems unavoidable if that makes sense. Thanks in advance xx

Usually it would continue, so if you put a pad on it would likely still leak, especially if lying down for a while and then standing. The only way to k ow for sure though is to go get checked, they do a swab to check for amniotic fluid. It’s likely to be discharge or maybe urine but definitely get checked if you are worried as there are serious risks if it is your waters

I had this and went to get checked. It wasn't amniotic fluid. Turned out I'd sucked up bath water 🙈 They were very kind and I wasn't made to feel silly, so for your peace of mind and health, get checked.

Followed advice online 🤣 and it said to pee and then put a pad in underwear and lie down and then if you get up and still leak it could be amniotic fluid but pad has been bone dry 🤷🏻‍♀️ I fear pool water could be getting trapped... I really appreciate you both taking the time to reply to me and happy for other responses too xx

Hopefully nothing to worry about OP! I started getting heavier discharge in the second trimester and it was watery at times but apparently it's completely normal. It did shock me though if I was out walking I could feel it come out almost like a period!

Don't underestimate how much discharge you produce when pregnant, 3 of us have been pregnant in the office over the last few years and have all commented on it. With DD a week before she was born I woke up convinced my waters had gone such was the pool I woke up in but after a trip to MAC it wasn't and apparently towards the end your plug can sort of liquefy in preparation for labour.
