Bump measuring 7 weeks ahead

Hello!

Looking for experiences and hopefully some reassurance!
At all my midwife appointments where my bump has been measured, I’ve been measuring 6 weeks ahead. I am now 31 weeks and pregnant and bump is measuring 7 weeks ahead, as this will be the third where the measurement is bigger than expected (but consistent).

I am being referred for an extra scan (likely in 2 weeks when I have a pre-scheduled consultant appt) and midwife said not to worry but it’s really hard not to! She advised it can just be a big baby, or could be too much fluid. She reassured me not to worry but that if it’s fluid then we will need further investigation, and honestly it’s scared the shit out of me. Apart from GD what could be a reason for having a lot of amniotic fluid around the baby? As much as I want to be calm I can’t help panicking, I know my bump is huge but now I’ve got that panic that something might be wrong and the wait is agonising!

Has anyone else had a bump measure ahead of what would be expected? Think I just need to not feel alone as people in real life have said they’ve known people 2-3 weeks ahead but 7 seems crazy to me.

Thank you in advance!

Hi lovely,
Im 32 weeks today and last week I had the same fright. My bump was measuring at 36 weeks at my 31 week fondal measurement, so I was referred for a growth scan.

At the growth scan, they mentioned I had excess amniotic fluid and babies HC was off the charts. I panicked so much- googled and googled (DO NOT DO IT)

Finally at my fetal medicine referral they said everything was absolutely fine, baby was coming along great. Baby is just a BIG baby- on the larger side but everything is proportionate.

Fundal measurements/ growth scans are not accurate- depends on where baby lies, have you eaten/ drank, who does them… so do take it with a pinch of salt!

As for my amniotic fluid, I do have Polyhydramnios (excess) which they’ll monitor but again- big baby = more urine..

If they do more scans, it’s just an extra opp to see baby!

All the best xx
