Just after a bit of advice please. I have been off the mini pill (desogestrel) since December. We have DTD every month, during ovulation times, around ovulation etc, but still no pregnancy. I have 2 children from a previous partner. My now partner has no children. Could I be going through fertility problems as I am now considerably older than I was the 1st 2 times? I am in my 30s now and feel like time is running out as my daughters are getting older. Anyway..

I am 1 day late on my period which has been pretty regular since coming off the pill. Roughly a 28 day cycle. I have done 2 pregnancy tests but both are negative. I have been having cramps, but maybe a little less painful than period pains. Some sharp pains and a constant dull ache. I also have sore boobs and have felt a little nauseous recently. Could I maybe have ovulated a little later this month and there's still a chance? I didn't have any tell tale symptoms with my 1st 2,and no morning sickness etc.

Are you tracking ovulation?

Blakeboo · 21/07/2023 18:42

On 2 apps, yes I am. It shows I am ovulating 14 days between basically and we dtd. I also have symptoms around ovulation time

Are you tracking using ovulation sticks or temp testing etc? I only ask because the Apps I used to use were way off and I was missing it by days.

Tbh, i don't use them religiously. But we dtd quite often, i find it hard to believe I would have missed it each month for 7 months now. Regarding the ovulation tests, when should I start to test and for how many days? It does confuse me a little bit and becomes a bit daunting lol

Have you been unwell lately or stressed as that can affect your period. Have you started taking any new tablets?
Apps are great for tracking your cycle but they work on an algorithm so just guess based on a typical woman, when they think you’ll ovulate. I’ve found them to be completely wrong and used ovulation tests to find out exactly. Some months I ovulate early, some months later so it’s hard to guess unless you’re used to trying to track them.
Clear blue ovulation tests are good, you can start a couple of days after your period.

It might just be slightly harder this time as you’re older, it took me years ttc.

I used Easy at home from amazon, purely because they were cheaper 😂 Unfortunately DTD around ovulation still only has a 20% chance of actually catching each month. That's why doctors don't really listen until after 12 months of trying.
I'd say give it another 2 days and if still no period maybe test on Sunday morning?

Having a weird period today. Thought I was coming on, as I normally have period pains and then come on fully. Today, 3 days late I am bleeding very light pink and there's bits of dark brown. Definitely not a normal period. I was still getting a negative test yesterday so I'm fairly certain I'm not pregnant now. But why am I having such a weird period if nothing has changed?

Alternatively, could I have possibly ovulated late, implanted late and still have a negative test whem I was due to come on?
