Hey all wondering if anyone is/has experiencing similar?

In first trimester (around 10 weeks) I had a red bleed after sex. Got scanned privately and they said it was a sub chorionic. Baby fine. Bleeding stopped within 2-3 days.

NHS scan at 13 w + 1 they couldn’t see bleed. Baby fine.

Then I had an episode of loose stool 13+6 the next day I had brown spotting/discharge. I figured could be related to the stress on bowels, so left it for 3 days.

Day 3. Told midwife and she said to come in for a Doppler and observations. Blood pressure, urine, heart and temperature (for me) all fine, and she could hear baby heartbeat.

Sha said she didn’t know what the cause could be, perhaps from the previous bleed. And to keep eye on it worsening or any pain or red blood.

It’s now day 5 and it’s still here, no worse but still here. :/

Note:
Second baby, first was delivered 4 years ago by fully dilated c-section at 37 + 2. So I’m due to be seen by preterm labour clinic next month.

First pregnancy was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes.

No bleeding in first pregnancy.

We have been abstaining from sex.

Not been exercising.

Hello,

This sounds a lot like my pregnancy. Had brown spotting at approx 8 weeks, was scanned and had a sub chorionic, by the time I was scanned at 13+2 it was gone.

Since then I’ve had brown/pink discharge only when wiping, was checked everytime. They checked my cervix and took swabs. One swab come back that I had thrush and was told that could have been causing the discharge. Since I’ve treated that, fingers crossed I haven’t had anymore discharge.

Had my 20 week scan today and baby is looking good. Maybe see if you can get a swab done to make sure you don’t have any infections.

Oh thanks! I’ll check with my midwife! Glad you and baby are well :)

Do you know whether your placenta is low? This could cause bleeding and brown spotting as well. Usually the placenta moves higher when the pregnancy proceeds.

I had brown discharge for around 5 days starting at 13 weeks. Was checked over and nothing could be seen to be wrong with me or baby so they put me on progesterone until 16 weeks as a precaution even though they didn’t think I needed it because of 2 previous miscarriages. The consultant said it was probably old blood finally coming out from implantation or something.

I’m now 35 weeks and haven’t had any more blood or brown discharge again. I think at the stage you’re at if it’s brown then likely to be old blood and be ok. This is my second viable pregnancy and I had no bleeding with my first but everything is ok.

I know I have anterior, but haven’t said it’s low.

Hey lovely, baby born and all well. I believe from memory the bleeding stopped coincidentally the day I had my pre-term clinic growth scan. Which I think was day 9/10 of bleeding. Hope this helps. Push for growth / clinic scan with midwife if you’re stressed/scared. X

Thank you so much for replying, gives me some reassurance! I had a bit of brown spotting this morning (13 weeks), but my scan was all good on Friday. I have been referred for a scan on Thursday morning! 🤞 x

I had brown spotting for a few days from my cervix at 16 week. I got cervical ectopy diagnosed. Apparently it is very common during pregnancy because of the hormones and it is not dangerous. It can cause spotting, but i have been told that any bleed should be checked by the midwife,gp nevertheless
