Chances of having pre eclampsia

Hi all just wondering if anyone has had any experience of this… I’m 35+5 wks, have been having filters in my eyesight and then what looked like sparkles/stars while being sick in the morning.. my bp is totally fine but MW did a urine test which showed protein so I’ve been given a blood test just incase.
What are the chances I have PE if my bp is fine? I’m anaemic too and on tablets and the iron is slowly coming back up so that’s good

Also had strong braxton hicks last night holy moly it was a bit sore 😅

It's more likely with your first child but definitely worth calling your MW for a urine check and another BP check. Seeing floaters could be due to anaemia/tiredness but if there's protein in your urine and/or bp is going up you'd need to be checked.
Good luck! I'm really good at getting pre-eclampsia 🙄

Sorry, read quickly. Protein and floaters for me I'd be thinking it was going towards the pre-eclampsia route.
Is your MW checking on you tomorrow?

Tomicca · 20/07/2023 18:05

I should hear back blood/urine lab results tomorrow morning and then I assume depending on what the result is I’ll find out what they want to do. BP so the protein was a surprise

Hi OP

For me I had symptoms and proteins but BP was normal. BP crept up slowly over a couple of weeks.

I was 29 weeks when symptoms started and made it to 32 weeks when baby had to be delivered.

Hopefully, even if it is pre-e you might still make it to term especially as so far BP is ok. Fingers crossed for you!

FWIW the stars etc can be anaemia and protein doesn't necessarily mean pre-e so it's defo not a given, good that they are going the blood test though and not fobbing you off. All the best!

Thanks I am lucky I have a brilliant MW who has been a great support! I suffer a bit of health anxiety and waiting to hear tomorrow feels like she’s even though it’s not 😁 thanks for the info 32 weeks must have been a worry for you hope it worked out well in the end

It could be a possibility, you'll have to wait for the bloods to find out. They can't be overly concerned yet as otherwise they'd have had you in by now. BP being normal still is a good sign I think. I had PE with both of mine, but the first sign was my blood pressure creeping up. DD was born at 35+5 and was absolutely fine, hopefully your LO will be too.

Tomicca · 20/07/2023 21:07

Thanks I’m holding on to the fact my bp is good as a positive sign will just need to see tomorrow!

Hi, just wondering how you're getting on. You're at least only a few weeks off full term. Hope you're resting up and excited for your new little one.

Tomicca · 25/07/2023 16:22
