Unusual discharge and blood

Hi everyone,

I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant, all fine up until now. Not many symptoms but all seemed ok.

This morning after I wiped I noticed a slight brown blood colour on the tissue but wasn’t a lot so didn’t panic. An hour later after I wiped again there was a mixture of brown blood, small amounts of red clots and a huge amount of brown discharge that I can only really compare to cervical mucus.

It was massive lumps and strings of it. Alongside this I’ve got some mild cramping.

I’ve called the early pregnancy unit who have said they aren’t overly concerned but have booked me in for 9am tomorrow for a scan.

I’m just wondering really if anyone has any advice or had a similar thing happen? This is my first pregnancy so I’ve nothing to compare it to.

Forgot to add, I don’t have a midwife yet, although I’ve done the referral I’ve not heard back yet

All good for me, currently a few days over 11 weeks pregnant. I went to the EPU who saw the bleed on ultrasound and concluded it was an old implantation bleed, it did carry on for about another week/10 days but very little, nothing like the blood that prompted me to write the original post. Thank you for responding x
