Hey guys,

We are ttc baby number two, I am only on 10dpo this cycle but decided to take a pregnancy test as I am feeling different and this is the result, it looks positive but very faint. What do you guys think?

Looks like a positive test to me, congratulations! Try wait 2 days and take another test and the line should hopefully be a little bit darker!

Millie1501 · 19/07/2023 20:03

Thank you, I think so too but I am in shock. I got a negative this morning with first response. I decided to try clear blue and got this. I will definitely re test in a couple of days 🤞😊

Clearblue are absolutely awful for showing lines when negative. First response are more sensitive so if (as long as it was the early result one) that was negative I would trust that more. If you’re not due your period yet you should use first morning urine too as it’s more concentrated. Give it a few days and test again but don’t use clearblue

Millie1501 · 19/07/2023 22:23

@PickledScrump I have never heard that about clear blue tbh. I have heard mixed things about first response. I am aware that morning urine is better so I am going to test again in the morning. And again in a few days to see if the line gets darker. I have a digital so will use that over the weekend. I am swaying to trusting the clear blue result today as I feel the way I felt when I was pregnant with my first at this stage. I suppose I will know for sure very soon 🤞

@Millie1501 theres literally loads of posts on here of people who have had their heart broken by false clearblue results. Frer did have an issue with indents and have since been discontinued but cb don’t seem to care. Boots own early results tests are really good if you want a clear answer. Fingers crossed.

Millie1501 · 19/07/2023 23:09

@PickledScrump Thanks, I will pick up some boots tests tomorrow to see if I get a positive with those in the next few days.

@PickledScrump I know from seeing you post on lots of threads that you're not a fan of CB which you are absolutely entitled to be, but I have never had a problem with them myself and I know lots of other people feel the same x

I agree about first response. Personally I have never had a problem with CB. I sadly have bought many of them over the past few years and they've always been 100% accurate

Hiddenvoice · 19/07/2023 23:25

I’ve had a few indents with cb but it’s been outwith the timeframe so I’ve never believed them to be positive.

I think what’s good about your test is the thickness of the line. It may be faint but it’s the same thickness as the control line.

Great idea to test again in a couple of days. Hopefully the line gets stronger 🤞

Millie1501 · 19/07/2023 23:28

@CR7 Yeah I always used them, I’ve always had a negative result previously apart from the month I conceived my first born. I really hope that it picked up something today and hasn’t just got my hopes up. I will post an update when I know for sure.

@Hiddenvoice Yeah it appeared very quickly so was definitely within the time frame. I really hope it is real as I have already gotten my husband really excited 🤞

Aww I hope so too! Keep us updated 🤞🤞

CR7 · 19/07/2023 23:40

@Millie1501 sending you lots of luck x

PickledScrump · 19/07/2023 23:48

@CR7 they used to be good but just take a look at all the posts that have turned out to be bad evaps and people end up absolutely crushed thinking they were pregnant. There’s absolutely loads on here. I’d always advise people not get their hopes up until confirming with another type of test.

I've also seen lots of people with issues with all of the other brands.

Many people also don't read the instructions. I've seen countless women on here testing with urine in the afternoon, looking at the tests much later than the time specified, opening up the tests,
flooding the tests etc...

If the instructions are followed, nearly all of the tests are as good as each others.

I agree with you about double checking

BeccaS1995 · 20/07/2023 08:31

I have had mixed today, i took one yesterday and it was positive and took two another clearblue and one pink dye and two different readings im so confused
Top test is yesterdays bottom is this morning

BeccaS1995 · 20/07/2023 08:32

Ive never used this before but i always read peoples
Im just a bit confused as i have loads of symptoms im not due af till sunday though

CR7 · 20/07/2023 08:34

I think tentative congratulations may be in order x

BeccaS1995 · 20/07/2023 08:38

Do they both look positive
Im split as one is thin

I did the unthinkable and took them out mainly to get a better photo so its was out of the time frame

CR7 · 20/07/2023 08:41

@BeccaS1995 I was looking at your clear blue where I can see a faint line on each

BeccaS1995 · 20/07/2023 08:44

@CR7 thank you
I feel like im going crazy i havent mentioned it to my partner yet as im not sure myself
The pink dye test was negative so it has really thrown me off

Hiddenvoice · 20/07/2023 08:53

@BeccaS1995 they look quite faint so I would hold off for 2-3 days and then test again. Are you testing early?
Try not take strips out of packaging as they will have other marks on them which you might think are positive lines. If you check a test outwith the time frame then it’s invalid. sorry to say that if the line doesn’t come up within the set time then I’d try ignore it as it will most likely be an evap.

Agree with @BeccaS1995 - test again in a couple of days and make sure you follow the instructions about FMU, and the timeframe of looking at the test etc x

Millie1501 · 20/07/2023 09:00

@BeccaS1995 They both look positive to me, very faint but could be because it’s very early still. I am due af Sunday also. I think I am going to try and hold off until the weekend when results will be clearer. Like you I am experiencing symptoms so just wanted a bfp so I don’t feel like I’m going crazy. I didn’t test this early with my first, I think early testing has just added more strew and confusion for me.

@Hiddenvoice i am testing early yeah im not due on for 3 days

I followed the instructions i dipped them into my first wee
