Hi there, Im only eight weeks and ive been suffering from the same thing, everyone tells me it normal, ligaments stretching and that kind of thing. A hot water bottle helps, mines constantly attached to me.If it gets worse, do speak to your midwife or doctor though

BigBadMouse · 25/02/2008 21:03

yes, had these with all 4 of my pregnancies (3 of which have been successful). As long as there is not a lot of bleeding you are probably fine - a little bleeding is quite common. I have heard of a lot of others who have had this too so spurised you haven;t had loads of replies yet!

I remember with DD1 being in rather a lot of distress about it all - sitting on the sofa sobbing saying 'hold on little baby' while DH watched on rather bemused (had only known for sure I was pg for a day or so then and she was unplanned). That said, it doesn't get any easier with subsequent pregnancies as it felt so much like a period was on its way.

Take it easy and try not to worry too much if possible.

I had this with my first pg when I was about 5 weeks. I called NHS direct who advised me to go to casualty as they have to with any abdominal pain in pg. Spent a couple of hours there, they did a pg test and had a prod of my tummy and said it was normal in early pregnancy, I did feel better for getting it checked out though.

I think they may have done a urine test too to rule out a urine infection.

I had this, was besides myself with worry (1st pregnancy) now 21 weeks and found something new to stress about! Sure its ok but if your concerned do call g.p or something for reassurance. Congratulations by the way.

Was just about to post a similar message! Am 7+2 and still having niggling pains, although mild. Do remember having them with first pregnancy but can't remember how long they went on but didn't worry so much then. Between having DD and this pregnancy had mc so am worrying much more this time. Saying that, first sign of mc was bleeding. Anyone else who can reassure me as well that pains are common/normal gratefully appreciated.
