are my eyes playing tricks on me or is there a faint blue line- especially at the top?

I can see something at the top.. but I have seen a lot of threads with clearblue where it turned out to be an evap. So I’d try to reserve judgement for now… easier said than done I know.

I’ve read good things about boots tests if you have one nearby.

readingismycardio · 19/07/2023 09:44

Looks positive!! I'd retake the test though, just to make sure!

BudgetBuster · 19/07/2023 09:47

Clear blue are awful. I genuinely think they should be taken off the market in my opinion. Can you get a boots or some other pink dye test?

PickledScrump · 19/07/2023 09:59

Clearblue are terrible for showing things when negative. Get yourself a pink dye test, boots own early ones are good

BlossomW · 19/07/2023 11:25

Thanks! I’ll try get to a boots. So ridiculous how expense they are if they aren’t known to be good

Yes looks like a bfp!! Exciting! How many dpo?

Flowerlover010 · 19/07/2023 12:42

@PickledScrump @BlossomW ive used CB for 3 years now with 4 positives and many negatives all have been 100% correct. Never had a cb that was wrong. If youve done it correctly and followed instructions it should be right. Make sure you read within the time limit and dont look at it after, go by whats in the time limit.

PickledScrump · 19/07/2023 12:47

@Flowerlover010 thats great that you’ve had a good experience with them. But just take a look at the 100s of posts about cb that show lines within the time limit but are actually negative. They have caused a lot of people a lot of upset. It’s not about using them incorrectly, they’re just crap tests. Pink dye tests are far more reliable.

Flowerlover010 · 19/07/2023 12:49

@PickledScrump i could easily say the same about pink dye tests if you read reviews etc.

PickledScrump · 19/07/2023 13:10

@Flowerlover010 certain brands yes. Even frer started to get bad results, these have since become discontinued, unfortunately cb don’t seem to care and continue to sell them. Superdrug branded ones are absolutely awful too. Boots early ones however are very good as are easy@home strip tests.

BlossomW · 19/07/2023 14:44

@FoodFann 12 days!! I knows it’s really early so knew if there was anything it would be faint but my boobs are sore like never before and I had cramping around the time implantation would have occurred along with a dodgy tummy. I have only recently started to take folic acid etc and wondered if these could be side affects from that instead of pregnancy symptoms?

I'm a big fan of a clear blue. Sadly over the years I've ordered a sad amount of them and never had an evap line of a false positive or negative.

I've heard so many bad reviews about the pink dye.

I think many people (no one on this thread I hasten to add!) do not read the instructions. I have read many review about people doing the following.

  • opening up the tests (WHY!)
  • not using FMU
  • flooding the tests.
CR7 · 19/07/2023 15:23

Sorry I pressed post too early!

I reckon over the years I've bought 40-50 clear blue rests. I could officially check my Amazon to find out but I shan't. Anyway. It's my test of choice and I know my sisters and lots of friends swear by them.

If you use them properly they are really good

Yes to this!

I forgot to mention on my last post how many rolls are posting about looking at the test much later and seeing a positive. Also a bug bear of mine!

Hiddenvoice · 19/07/2023 16:33

I’ve always had a positive experience with cb but I’ve never tested too early. I either use the 5 days early test or try my hardest to wait until I’m late. It’s hard going but it helps to not get my hopes up.

CR7 · 19/07/2023 16:36

@Hiddenvoice me too!
